Message To Parents From Our Executive Headteacher
Dear Parent/Carer,
This week, across the Federation, we have recognised the “Show Racism the Red Card” day event in a variety of ways: either through workshops for children, class based activities or simply by wearing RED.
We have discussed racism and other types of discrimination. Your children are so knowledgeable and I truly believe they can change the world! Pope Francis described racism as “a virus that quickly mutates and, instead of disappearing, goes into hiding, and lurks in waiting.” Let’s keep encouraging one another to take action!
In October, we have also been thinking about the Holy Rosary and its special significance as a traditional prayer. Children will continue to have opportunities to pray part of the rosary in school and it would be lovely if you could also do this at home.
Just a reminder that next week is Parent Consultation afternoons/evenings. Please make an effort to attend as it is important that you are aware of how your child has settled into their new class and how their learning is progressing.
I would like to thank you for ensuring that your child is wearing their FULL school uniform including their school tie. This has improved significantly but there is still a small group of children who are coming to school without a tie. I look forward to a 100% improvement going forward.
Wishing you a very restful weekend,
Best Wishes,
Ms G Hampton

KS1
- What did James and John want Jesus to do?
- Why were the other disciples angry with James and john?
- How is Jesus like a servant leader?
KS2
- Why do you think that James and John wanted to sit next to Jesus in Heaven?
- Can you think of ways Jesus became a servant leader?
- How can we be servant leaders today?
Prayer Bear
Each week a different child in Nursey will take Polly, our Nursery Prayer Bear, home for the weekend.
Last weekend, Polly spent time with Gabriel, who really enjoyed praying with Polly Bear. At one moment, Polly played the role of the priest at the altar, and on another, she joined the other toys as part of the congregation.
We look forward to seeing where her adventures take her this weekend!
Attendance
This weeks attendance award goes to Reception with 98.8% attendance.
This weeks punctuality award goes to Nursery with 11 minutes lost.
We are working towards achieving 96% attendance this academic year. Please help us to achieve this by ensuring that your child attends school each day and by not booking any holiday during term time. Please be aware that holiday leave in term time cannot be authorised. There is strong correlation between good attendance and good progress. So together, let’s give our children the best possible chance of reaching their potential.
Parents' Consultation Evenings
Face-to-face parents’ consultations for the autumn term will take place on Monday 21st and Thursday 24th October. The main times are listed below but some classes, due to numbers may have slots beyond the times shown.

- Thursday 24th October between 4.00pm and 6.00pm.
Please note, for safeguarding reasons, the school will finish at 2.30pm on 21st October to allow us to clear the site and prepare for the parent consultations.
Bookings for face-to-face and online appointments should be made via Google Calendar. Each teacher will have a separate link to their calendars for Parents’ Evening, which you will find in the letter that was sent out this week.

Show Racism The Red Card
Years 5 and 6 recently participated in a workshop run by the charity Show Racism the red card. It was very informative and engaging and the children really enjoyed the sessions. The children in key stage 2 also attended an assembly led by the charity. It was lovely to see the children’s enthusiasm and participation as we explored these important topics together.
