A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
🌱 Horticulture – Students are resetting our Hydroponics system to grow a fresh crop of lettuce for the high school kitchen! Planning is also underway for our spring greenhouse projects.
🌾 Agriscience – This class is diving into research on Wisconsin and U.S. agricultural commodities while also kicking off our FFA Leadership Unit, building skills in teamwork and industry leadership.
🔨 Wood Technology & Construction – Students are mastering industry-standard tools, including planers, jointers, table saws, bandsaws, and circular saws, as they develop their woodworking and construction skills.
🐄 Animal Science (Dual Credit with FVTC) – Students have successfully completed units on Farm Safety and Animal Handling and are now beginning their Dairy Unit, gaining real-world knowledge in livestock management.
From engineering to welding, conservation to mechanics, our programs continue to offer valuable, hands-on experiences that set students up for success in their future careers.

Congratulations Fox Friday Winners For This Week!
Congratulations go out to the following students and staff member for being chosen as this week's Fox Friday winners, Makenna, Paytten and Scarlet and our staff member, Mrs. King ! Thank you for demonstrating the characteristics of the Fox Four and for being such great role models!!
Class of 2025 Top Ten Flyway Conference Award Winners
Congratulations to the following members of the class of 2025 who have earned the prestigious Top 10 Flyway Conference Award. This honor is given to the top 10 academic students from each high school within the conference. The Omro students selected for this award were determined based on the Laude points they accumulated throughout their high school careers, up to the first semester of their senior year. These students were celebrated at a special event on February 23rd at Lomira High School. Our Top 10 Seniors are: Malia, Gavin, Brooklyn, Liam, Delia, Ariana, Kayannah, Holly, Kira, and Sadie! We are so proud of you and all that you have accomplished and have full confidence that you will achieve all you set out to do!
CAPP Speech Students Have Some Weighty Fun
The CAPP Speech students had a blast with their first assignment from Mrs. Miller, which was to introduce a classmate using a prop as a metaphor. The prop chosen was a barbell, and students had fun pretending to lift the heavy weight while describing their peers. The fun didn’t stop there—since the barbell was left in Mrs. Miller’s classroom, other students couldn’t resist getting in on the action, taking turns to “lift” the barbell and keep the fun going.
NHS Hosts 4th Annual Toy Drive
On February 7th, NHS hosted their 4th Annual Toy Drive.
Thank you to everyone who donated toys and money! The students were able to purchase a lot of fun items for Room to Care in Oshkosh. An Omro alumni created this nonprofit to provide books, toys, and puzzles for foster kids who have a family visit. Thank you to the boys basketball team and coaches for your continued support in hosting this!
Exploring Exercise and Cellular Respiration in OHS Biology
OHS Biology students explored how exercise impacts cellular respiration rates. They enjoyed engaging in intense physical activity before measuring the carbon dioxide concentration in their breath. The students sprinted down the hallway, performed jumping jacks, and even danced to elevate their heart rates.
Conference Forensics Meet at Omro High School
Omro High School hosted the Conference Forensics Meet this past Monday and it was a great evening! Six schools attended and brought 120 students to compete in 13 different categories. Our very own Kaia M and Katie K earned 2nd team awards in the category of poetry! The whole Omro Forensics Team did a fantastic job!
Good Luck to the High School Band!!
High School band members will be traveling to St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary on Saturday for their district Solo and Ensemble Festival. Students pick a song to practice and perform in front of a judge for which they will give feedback both in writing and verbally based on a set standard, and they will be rated for their performance. Those who receive a class A rating of starred first (*1) will advance to the State Solo and Ensemble! Wishing all the band students all the best!!
Key Club Hosts Half Time Heart Toss to Benefit the American Heart Association
On Monday 2/24, Key Club hosted their 2nd Annual Half Time Heart Toss! Hearts could be purchased for $1 and then at half time all the hearts were thrown onto the court. Anyone’s whose heart landed on the Fox head won a prize, which were donated by the American Heart Association.
Thank you to all who participated! Between the hearts and concessions, almost $250 was raised for the American Heart Association!
Omro Wrestlers Place at Sectionals
Congratulations to two Omro wrestlers for their performance at the Valders Sectionals, where Jason took 4th place and Logan, earned a spot in the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament by securing 3rd place! Way to go, Omro and best of luck at State!

Powerlifters Qualify for State
Congratulations to our 11 State Qualifiers in Powerlifting! Wishing you all the very best at State next Friday and Saturday in Appleton!
Exciting Night in the Den!
February 21, 2025
Last Friday night the Den was packed with energy! The boys' basketball team faced off against the Waupaca Comets and came out on top with a 67-50 victory. At halftime, the team took a moment to honor two special groups.
First, they recognized last year’s conference championship team, who were celebrated with the unveiling of their championship banner.
Next, local first responders and police officers were honored for their dedication, bravery, and service. In a heartfelt moment, these community heroes presented Mason with a Winnebago County Challenge Coin for his exceptional actions during an emergency. A big thank you to everyone for all you do!
Senior Sweets
The Whiteaker family treated our seniors to some sweet Valentine's Day cookies. Our seniors really enjoyed and appreciated the special surprise.
Boy's Basketball Heads to WIAA Tournament March 4
Boys' Basketball gets the nine seed and travels west where they will take on the Altoona Railroaders for the opening round of the WIAA Boys' Basketball Tournament. Good luck, Foxes!!
Lady Foxes Host Denmark Vikings in the WIAA Regional Semifinals Tonight!
Tonight our Girls' Basketball team will take on the Denmark Vikings in the WIAA Regional Semifinal! Please remember no passes will be accepted and the game will not be livestreamed. Good luck Ladies!

Bridging Brighter Smiles
Bridging Brighter Smiles will be coming to Omro Middle School and Omro High School on Monday, March 3!
Preventative Dental Services Include:

Omro High School Blood Drive
Omro High School will be hosting a Blood Drive from 9:00am-2:00pm on Friday, March 7 in the Commons. Students under 17 must have a permission form signed by a parent and those can be picked up from Ms. Jentz!
School Musical Coming Soon!
We are excited to announce this year’s musical: “Out of the Woods” by Stephen Murray.
Rehearsals will be held from 3:30-5:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Full rehearsal schedule will be posted after auditions.
The performances will be held on April 11-12 and will play for 3 total shows. One on Friday Night, and Two on Saturday - one matinee and one night showing.

St. Mary Omro Hosts Free Event- Youth Motivational Anti-Bullying Speaker
St. Mary Church in Omro is excited to announce that they will be hosting Kevin Szawala, also known as Mr. Peace on March 10 at 6:00pm. Kevin is a National Youth Motivational and Anti-Bullying Speaker, Hip-Hop Artist, and Spoken Word Poet from Metro Detroit. He travels across the country, visiting schools, churches, and colleges, sharing his passionate message of peace, love, and kindness. Using hip-hop, humor, and heartfelt stories, Kevin has inspired over 1,000,000 people in more than 1,000 schools across 20 states, focusing on topics such as bullying, cyberbullying, diversity, substance abuse, and suicide prevention through his K-12 school assembly programs.
Bullying is an issue that affects both youth and adults today, and we are thrilled to offer our community the chance to hear Kevin's powerful presentation.
Family Literacy Night- Dive into Reading - Let’s Go Under the Sea!
Family Literacy Night will be held at Omro Elementary School on Thursday, March 13th, 2025 from
5:30pm - 7:30pm.
There are lots of fun activities planned. Here is the line up of activities planned for the night:
- Book Swap - bring a gently used book to swap for a new gently used book
- Book Fair, Cotton Candy, and Kona Ice for purchase

UPDATE: Omro Youth Trap team
The Omro Youth Trap team is currently open to all 6th-12th grade youth from any community, with a registration fee of $60. Hunters' safety courses are scheduled for Omro youth interested in shooting trap. The final sign-up for trap and the team's first shooting night will be held on March 19, 2025, at Springbrook Sportsman Club in Omro from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The evening will start with a brief meeting from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by shooting practice. The team also uses TeamReach for communication, and the code is OYTrap2025, which is the most effective way to stay updated. For further information, you can email Bethany Gerber at omroyouthtrap@gmail.com.

ATHLETICS
REMINDER: EXTRACURRICULAR ATTENDANCE POLICY - PRACTICE & COMPETITION
***Students must be in attendance for the entire school day in order to practice or compete in an event. ***
Special circumstances may merit exception with prior approval from the Principal/Dean of Students, or designee. To see if the absence can be approved:
- Step 1 - Parent/Guardian notification to office (Mrs. Prado, Mrs. Stadler or Mrs. Dobberstein) at least 24 hours prior to absence)
- Step 2 - If absence is approved, Student picks up signed Excused Slip from office
- Step 3 - Student gives signed Excused Slip to coach/advisor to participate the day of the absence
If an absence is deemed unexcused it will result in ineligibility for participation in extracurricular activities until the next full day of attendance.

2025-2026 Omro Dance Team Tryouts
The Omro High School Varsity Dance team will be hosting tryouts for the 25-26 dance season. Here is the link to our tryout packet. Only pages 7-10 are required to be turned in. All applications must be completed and submitted by Friday, April 25 at 5:00 pm. Failure to submit tryout packets in time will result in you being ineligible to try out for the 2025-2026 Omro Dance Team.

Summer Opportunity
The Omro Pool is hiring!! Applications for Lifeguard are due March 14, and April 11 for Front Desk. You must be 15 years old for Lifeguard and have completion of your CPR/AED by May 10. For Front Desk you need to be 14 years old. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to Omro City Hall by 4:30pm on the days specified.
Wisconsin Business World Summer Camp
Our immersive four-day, three-night summer camps held on Wisconsin University and college campuses challenge students to innovate and lead as they create, build and run a business from the ground up. Through dynamic speakers, manufacturing tours and hands-on activities, students leave our camps with a better understanding of business principles, financial literacy and our economy.

Lots of new events this month! A few items to note:
- New Inspire WI Career Readiness Platform Demo: Tune into a live demonstration of the new Inspire WI platform specific to Educators. A recording will be available if you cannot attend the live session.
- YA Showcase Tours: Several YA Showcase Tours have been scheduled for students to learn more about a company and the YA positions that will be available in 2025-2026. Students looking for positions are HIGHLY encouraged to attend.
- February Social Media Posts: Copy and paste posts to your social media platforms for parent/student awareness.
- Inspire WI Job Board: Several positions are being posted. Please share with students.
