Last week
We had a fantastic time wrapping up our learning before Spring Break! The students were engaged and eager to explore new concepts, and we can’t wait to see their enthusiasm continue!
Next week
When we return from Spring Break, we will jump right into shared reading! 📚 We’ll be identifying, blending, and spelling words with long and short /oo/ sounds. To support your child at home, please click on How you can help at home below for ways to help with these sounds.

In Reading, we will focus on informational text. We’ll learn about print concepts like titles, book covers, and author names, as well as text features such as tables of contents, labels, and diagrams. Our comprehension strategies will include using labels, asking and answering questions, and identifying the sequence of events in a text. We’ll also discuss how illustrations help us understand important details and clarify the meaning of multiple-meaning words.
In Math, we will dive into Topic 9, where your child will use their understanding of place value to compare 2-digit numbers. This topic, along with Topic 8, will strengthen their number sense and prepare them for 2-digit addition and subtraction.
