We are excited to share that Mrs. Kim and some of our Christie Cub students will be performing with the Music Ministry Conservatory this Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 6:00 PM. The performance will take place at the Creek View High School auditorium in Farmers Branch.

Admission Details:

• Students: Free entry
• Adults: $5 (discounted rate)

The program lasts about 1.5 hours and features a diverse repertoire, including classical pieces by Joseph Haydn, opera selections, contemporary songs, and traditional Korean music. You can also look forward to amazing professional solos from Dallas Opera performers and other distinguished artists.

Mrs. Kim will be conducting the contemporary set, and this is a wonderful opportunity to support our students and learn how to join the choir!

Fourth Grade After-School Art Camp is a 4 Day experience for students who would like to learn additional skills not taught during AMPed. This camp will take place after-school October 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th. We would meet every day after school that week except Wednesday the 9th due to a possible staff meeting. This program would last from 2:55-3:45 in the Art Room. Pickup for students is 3:50 from the front office of Christie Elementary. Students will need to fill out an interest form on their google classrooms and I will pass out permission forms once I receive that. *There is a limit of 20 students – this is a first-come, first-serve opportunity*

Plano ISD is partnering with our local professional hockey team, the Allen Americans, for a special game night planned specifically for Plano ISD students, families and staff! PISD Night with the Allen Americans will take place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center (200 East Stacy Road; Allen, TX 75002) on October 30, at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

We are excited to share some important information about regular school attendance and how to manage absences using our new Skyward System. We've received questions about entering absence notes and finding attendance information, and we're here to help. We highly encourage you to enter your students absence in Skyward as we are going paperless.

We have also received many phone calls from parents asking about email that references the wording “Truancy,” please be advised that it just means your student was absent.

Hi Christie Families!

All Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students are currently working on artwork for the Original Works fundraiser. This is one of the ways I raise funds for school supplies and resources in the Art Studio.

So, what is Original Works? Each year, our school, our incredible PTA, and Original Works partner together to transform your child’s artwork into wonderful, one-of-a-kind gifts! Popular items have included holiday ornaments, mouse pads, custom printed mugs, and more.

Order forms will be sent home in October. While participation is optional, it is very much appreciated! Proceeds from this fundraiser directly benefit our Fine Arts Program. In the meantime, feel free to check out some of the gifts available for purchase here.
