Bristol Township School District
April 2025
Superintendent's Letter
Dear Bristol Township School Community,
I hope today finds you well as we make our way into the homestretch of the school year; a time of many fun and memorable events throughout our school community.
There was certainly a lot to commemorate and celebrate regarding our students' April achievements. Truman High School's girls flag football team made its debut and secured its first win earlier this month. Talented BTSD artists have been honored across Bucks County, and our students have been altruistically giving back to various groups, charities and organizations.
We also had a lot of "Tigers In the News" this month. 6ABC produced a wonderful highlight on Keystone's "Bubbles for Autism" event and the site Great PA Schools, run by the Pennsylvania School Board Association, has shared many of our students' accomplishments. The district is also proud to be one of 54 school districts in the state to receive a grant to pilot a cybersecurity program.
Check out all those stories and more in our April newsletter, and best wishes for a wonderful month of May!
Sincerely,
Michael Nitti
Superintendent of Schools

Cybersecurity Pilot Program Grant
Bristol Township School District is one of 54 districts in Pennsylvania to receive a grant for the Schools and Libraries Cybersecurity Pilot Program. The $248,472 three-year grant is made possible through the E-rate program, administered under the direction of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Director of Technology Bob Pfau applied for this grant to provide BTSD with access to cybersecurity resources. Among over 2,000 applicants, the Universal Service Fund (USF) is providing up to $200 million to 707 eligible schools and libraries.
“School districts are prime targets for cybersecurity attacks due to limited budgets, a high number of users on the network, and their critical dependence on network availability for learning, security systems, communication, and other essential functions,” said Pfau.
To safeguard BTSD from cyber threats, the funds will be used to support firewall maintenance and updates, enhance endpoint protection, implement active monitoring tools, and conduct annual network penetration tests.
“This grant will give us access to enterprise class monitoring and remediation tools, offset district funds we would have otherwise spent on support services, and strengthen our network security posture,” said Pfau.
