Memorial Day Weekend School Closing Calendar Update
Our District calendar includes three built-in emergency school closing days. This year, we did not use any of the three allotted days.
Therefore, in addition to Monday, May 26, schools will also be closed on Thursday, May 22, Friday, May 23, and Tuesday, May 27. Kidcare will also be closed. Please enjoy the extended weekend.
All schools will reopen on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
This week is National Volunteer Week and we want to give a HUGE shoutout to all of our incredible school volunteers!
Your dedication helps create a vibrant, supportive environment where our students can grow, learn, and thrive.
We truly couldnβt do it without you. THANK YOU for being such an important part of our school community!
It's Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week
Our Kidcare staff's dedication, patience, and care make such a positive difference in the lives of the children and families they support.

Walter C. Black Elementary School students created amazing two dimensional and three dimensional art from materials otherwise known as trash. Students developed their own artistic ideas and goals with the materials available. Some students chose to create sculptural art and jewelry, while others chose to make two dimensional pieces. The materials that were repurposed included scrap papers, cereal boxes, soda tabs and plastic bottle caps.
Perry L. Drew Elementary School fifth-graders toured their future middle school! The transition begins from PLD Dragons to MHK Cougars!
GNR students were thrilled to visit Kreps and are even more excited for middle school!
Mrs. Abdelaziz's Spanish 2 HHS students completed their cooking project, where they researched traditional foods from Hispanic countries and prepared recipes while providing instructions in Spanish. Students actually cooked the dishes themselves!
As a culminating activity, each class held a party where students brought their prepared dishes, watched videos of their classmates cooking, and interacted with one another.

Lexie Wersching reached an impressive 100 career points. She is now only 7 goals away from 100. Meanwhile, Sophie Cammarata made school history by breaking the all-time scoring record, netting her 221st career goal and surpassing the previous record of 220. Sophie now has her eye on the all time point record. Congratulations Sophie and Lexie we are so proud of you both!
