Middle School: Amaralis Ayala
"Amaralis is the perfect example of a student whose growth is evident in terms of respect, accountability, and responsibility. In my math enrichment class, when I go over the material, she consistently participates, takes notes, and asks questions when she does not understand. This is a remarkable improvement from how she approached academics in previous years. Amaralis takes pride in working hard and studying. I really can’t express how proud I am to see her excelling and believing in her own abilities!" - Ms. Cobia
Message From The Superintendent
Dear School Community,
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and families. It is truly a team effort to provide a high-quality education, and I am honored to be part of this incredible community.
**Celebrating District Success**
I'm excited to share that our school has met the 2024-2025 District Goals established by the School Leadership Team, which include members of all stakeholder groups, and adopted by the Lawnside School Board in June in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. We still have work to do in improving the educational outcomes for our students, however the efforts of all invested stakeholders has demonstrated we can move the needle for our children when we all work together. I encourage those that have committed themselves to assisting in this work to continue supporting the school as our children deserve nothing but our best efforts.
**Lateness and Absences**
An important component in assisting the school in improving educational outcomes for students is ensuring that the students arrive on time and attend school daily. Please make sure that your chilren are arriving to school by 8:30 am daily. Additionally, please make sure your child attends school on a regular basis, except in cases where they may display an illness. We have cut down the amount of students that arrive to school late daily or had been identified as being chronically absent. However, please be reminded that the District has an Attendance Policy where students that reach a total of 5 absences or 15 latenesses in a Marking Period will be required to attend Saturday School. Saturday School for the 1st Marking Period will be held on Saturday, November 16th from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm. Parents will be notified if their child is required to attend Saturday School by the Vice Principal prior to that date.
I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones. I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve this community, and I look forward to continuing our important work together.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ronn Johnson

Common Assessments for grade 3-8
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to inform you about our school's common assessment program, an important tool we use to support your child's academic growth and ensure high-quality instruction across all classrooms.
What Are Common Assessments? Common assessments are standardized tests that all students in the same grade level or course take at specific points throughout the year. These assessments help us:
- Monitor student progress toward grade-level standards
- Identify areas where students may need additional support
- Ensure consistency in learning expectations across classrooms
- Guide our instructional decisions to better serve all students
Assessment Schedule: Students will participate in common assessments in core subjects (Math, Reading, Writing) . The assessments will be administered quarterly, and the exact dates will be shared soon via classdojo.
