Purple Up! April is Month of the Military child.
We are always looking for ways to connect students with staff and the community and providing any available community resources for students and their families. We are fortunate enough to have a Licensed Clinical Social Worker visit our campus weekly. She serves as a school Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) at Dreaming Summit Elementary School. Previously, she has worked as a case manager, therapist and teacher for 25 years working with children and families. During that time, she also managed and supervised therapeutic programs for families. She is the proud daughter of a veteran. She feels it is a privilege to be a part of the Military and Family Life Counseling Program, supporting service members, their spouses, and children from various branches.
Please contact the front office for the Acknowledgement Form.

Field Day
April 18th 8:45am-10:45am - K, 1st, 5th
April 19th 8:45am-10:45am - 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Hello DSE Families! Our annual Field Day is coming up. On April 18 or 19 students will be outside in the morning participating at 13 stations. With your help we can prepare our students for what is expected of them during Field Day. This is a fun filled day full of activities promoting cooperation, team building, school spirit, friendly competition and encouraging sportsmanship. Please remind them that even though they are competing against each other, we are there to try our best, show great teamwork, sportsmanship, have fun and to be safe. Safe, closed-toe shoes are expected, preferably athletic shoes. Nothing that exposes their toe to possible injury. NO sandals, flip-flops, etc. Water bottles w/ their names on it are strongly encouraged as it will be warm outside and we are outside for about 2 hours. Students might want to wear sunscreen to school on Field Day and wear a hat.

Resources for Parents
Beginning in August DSE Parents will have access to 1:1 Parent Coaching. This entails One-on-one video calls with a mental health coach and 24 hour messaging with a mental health coach.
What is Coaching?
Coaches are like your virtual parenting assistant. Working together, you have support to help your child thrive. Our coaches have the expertise to walk you through even the toughest parenting challenges. “Coaches can provide the education, consistency, structure and accountability parents need and want.” More information to follow.
There will be 3 Mental Health Sessions in September, November and January. We will be covering topics on anxiety in children, emotional regulation and the effects of screen time.
