Sequoia Adult School
July Newsletter
A Message from the Director
Congratulations to our High School Diploma, High School Equivalency and ESL Level 4 graduates. They are listed later in this newsletter. Please join me in giving these students a virtual round of applause!
This has been a challenging few months because of the COVID closures, so it is inspiring to see so many of you continuing with your education. In addition to all our graduates, about 140 ESL students in Spring classes completed their level. 30 students are going on to college or job training. These students’ success is a true testament to their resilience in the face of uncertainty and unexpected challenges. Thanks to all students, and the teachers and staff who help them succeed. Good job!
During these times of COVID, our top priority at Sequoia Adult School is to keep students and staff safe. For that reason, all classes that begin in July will be offered as online classes using Zoom. We recognize many of you prefer in-person lessons and many schools are hoping to offer small in-person classes for the Fall 2020 term. However, the number of people we can serve with social distancing is quite small. Hence, to serve as many students as possible, we are exploring a slightly different approach, which would continue on-line classes for the rest of the year while opening part of Sequoia Adult School for students to access their classes on-line. We will keep you informed as we progress in planning. Please remember that any plans we make can change at the last moment due to COVID. Stay safe.
Congratulations Class of 2020!
