4th Grade Orchestra Spreads Holiday Cheer around Eden Elementary
Every December, Eden Elementary comes alive with the sounds of the season, thanks to the talented students in Mrs. Merkel’s orchestra. This beloved annual tradition sees young musicians traveling from classroom to classroom, performing holiday carols and spreading cheer throughout the school.
The familiar melodies bring smiles to the faces of students, teachers, and staff alike. As the orchestra fills the halls with music, lessons pause, hands clap, and the spirit of the season shines brightly.
More than just music, this tradition fosters a sense of unity and joy, reminding everyone of the magic of the holidays.
The Elementary looks forward to this heartwarming tradition returning year after year and filling Eden’s halls with warmth and music.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Hits the Halls of the GLP!
Our Eden GLP students brought the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade magic right to our hallways! With creativity and teamwork, they designed their own handmade parade float balloons and proudly marched them through the school for a festive and fun celebration.
Big smiles, bright colors, and lots of imagination—what a perfect way to kick off the holiday spirit!

Mrs. Doctor and some Student Council members attended a conference in Lake Placid, New York last week. Eden MS/HS takes the Polar Plunge
This past weekend, Eden Middle and High School was represented at the annual Polar Plunge, where brave participants take a chilly dive to support a great cause. Among those who fearlessly faced the icy waters were Eden student Jonna Grieco and her teacher, Mrs. Rebecca Lape.
Bundled up in warm layers and sporting big smiles, the duo arrived ready to take on the challenge in the name of teamwork and community spirit. With cheers from family, friends, and supporters echoing around them, Jonna and Mrs. Lape took a deep breath and jumped into the freezing water.
What an awesome experience for an amazing cause!
Eden Elementary Turkey Trot!
Last week the event kicked off with tons of laughs as the Eden Teachers stole the show with an inflatable race that had students and families cheering! Their energy set the tone for a day filled with school spirit, smiles, and a celebration of health and community.
Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered, and made this tradition such a success. We’re so proud of our students for showing determination and joy every step of the way!
Here’s to another great year of trotting into the Holiday Season!

A Holiday Message from Eden Superintendent Jeff Sortisio
Dear Eden CSD Families,
As the holiday season approaches, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to each of you. This is a time of reflection, gratitude, and connection—a chance to celebrate traditions, share moments with loved ones, and look forward to the promise of a new year.
At Eden Central Schools, we are fortunate to be part of a community that exemplifies care, kindness, and resilience. Whether it’s in our classrooms, on the stage, the field, or simply in our daily interactions, I continue to be inspired by our students, staff, and families. Your support and commitment make Eden not just a district, but a family.
As we step away from our routines to rest and recharge, let us remember the importance of kindness and compassion. This season reminds us that small gestures—a smile, a helping hand, or words of encouragement—can brighten someone’s day in ways we may never fully realize.
Thank you for making this school year so meaningful thus far. I wish you and your loved ones a holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and a new year that brings hope and possibility.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Be Well,
Jeff Sortisio
Superintendent, Eden CSD
