Advisory Presentation
Students have booked Xusana Davis, the State of Vermont's Executive Director of Racial Equity, for a special 25 minute presentation that will take place in AST on May 24th and May 27th. There will be discussion prompts for students who would like to discuss the presentation during advisory. We will not have regularly scheduled AST on May 24th and May 27th and everyone will be in their advisory for that time instead. Xusana Davis presented to the GLP Academy earlier this year and was very well received. Thank you for all that you do and hope you enjoy the presentation!
EHS Summer Session 2021
You may have already heard the news that EHS will be offering a Summer Session from July 6-July 29, 2021. This communication is to help spread the word and to answer questions we have been receiving about this new program - click here to learn more.
Enrichment Groups
We are looking to offer some enrichment group options during Flex block next year. Some ideas already mentioned are: a just for fun trivia group, student leaders support, book club, affinity spaces, crafts groups, open gym and more. What types of enrichment groups would you be interested in having at EHS? If you have an idea, please send a description of the enrichment group you would love to attend to Ms. Parks at tparks@ewsd.org.

Celebrating our Retiring Faculty and Staff
A group of faculty and staff members known as School Year’s Eve (SYE) have organized a number of events to celebrate our retiring community members.
5/25 & 5/28: Linda Cloutier-Namdar - Wear Red for Ed (Education, of course)
SYE Members - Barb Isham, Eric Langevin, Maria Royer, Jen Luck, Erin Schmitt, Tory Couture, Sunny Leporati, Arielle Boutwell, Mary Krug, Leo Labonte, Micky Bonges, Jeff Goodrich
Celebration Time
Let's celebrate the end of this unprecedented year on a high note. We are looking to celebrate the extraordinary work and effort put forth by both students and faculty/staff. To that end, we've created two new opportunities to recognize and horn anyone who is worthy. Students, staff, and the community are welcome to nominate someone for one of the following categories.
- Buzzworthy- a student who did something noteworthy that might have gone unrecognized until this point.
- Hornet Hero- Faculty or Staff that has gone above and beyond this year!
If you have any questions please contact Barb Isham or Paul Adams.
Spring Service Project
This advisory class walked the fields/grounds and picked up trash for their Spring Service Project! - Thank you Jen Desorcie's advisory class!
Spring Band & Choir Concert
The Spring Band and Choir Concert will take place on Wednesday, June 2nd at 7 pm under the EHS Tents. Friends and Family may watch LIVE from home via https://www.ewsd.org/essexmusic
VT Air National Guard "Drill" Experience
On Saturday June 5th, VT Air National Guard will host 11th & 12th graders that would like to experience a "drill" weekend for a half day and be immersed in what they do while preserving COVID guidance. This is an opportunity for students to learn about the Vermont Air National Guard without any commitments. If any students are interested, call 802-391-7021 no later than May 27th. *Students need to be at least a permanent resident and hold a valid state ID to be able to access the base.
