Thanks for reading our Monthly Monarch Band Newsletter! The goal of this newsletter is to provide highlights from the previous month, communicate more about what is happening in our classroom, and provide reminders for upcoming performances on the schedule. We appreciate everything you do to support the kids in their journey with the Monarch Band!

If you have any pictures of the Middle School or High School Bands at the Calf Show Days or Homecoming Parades, please send them to me!

Call time will be 6:00 PM at the Denison High School. Students will need to enter through the front doors of the high school. Attire will be any Monarch Gear - Monarch Band would be preferred, but weather will be the deciding factor in what we will wear!

We will practice with the High School Band in the FAC from 6-6:45 PM, and then we will head down to the football field endzone. We will watch the first half of the football game from the endzone, and we will perform with the high school band during halftime (roughly 8:15 PM). After their performance, they will either need to be picked up or return to the game to watch with their parents or the Lion's Den.

Students in 7th and 8th Grade band have the opportunity to audition for the SWIBA Honor Band. Students attended a meeting during WIN last week to learn more about the details for the audition. This honor band is comprised of students from schools all over the southwest part of Iowa. This audition process will start this month and will conclude with an audition on Saturday, November 2nd in Clarinda. More information will be coming in the future!

The middle school will be having Parent/Teacher conferences on Monday, October 28th and Tuesday, October 29th from 4-8 PM each evening. Feel free to stop in and say hi!
