ANNOUNCEMENTS
GRADUATION VENUES
We are continuously monitoring updates on the spread of COVID-19 and how new information may impact our planning. Many large-gathering venues still have limits on crowd sizes and with increasing COVID-19 positive cases, we anticipate that those limits will also increase.
To date, the Fridley ALC Graduation Ceremony will still take place at the Fridley Community Center as planned, with limited tickets per graduate. We will know more about ticket limits soon, as this dependent on how many graduates plan to attend.
The venue for this year’s FHS graduation ceremony; however, has been changed. The 2021 FHS Graduation Ceremony will be held at the Fridley High School football field. While this is an outdoor space, we will still follow safety guidelines such as face mask requirements and seating arrangements. Due to space capacity, each graduating senior will receive two guest tickets to the event.
We know that this is a very special occasion for our students and families and we are so proud to see our seniors reach this milestone achievement. The original venue is a closed-space event center and due to current limits, would not have allowed any guests.
We wanted to share this venue change with you and also let you know that we will continue to keep you informed of any new updates or changes as we receive them.

We have an important announcement we want to share with you. Beginning the 2021-2022 school year, all parents/guardians will need to have a Parent Portal account in Campus. The Parent Portal provides secure access to your child/children’s information such as class assignments, attendance, calendar, and grades. You can also use Parent Portal to pay for meals, fees, or school supplies.
There are many advantages of signing up for and using your Parent Portal account. It is convenient and easy to use, and gives you instant access to important information.
Nutritional Services: Manage your child/children’s meal accounts:
- Make online payments using checking, savings and/or credit/debit card to pay for your student’s meals.
- Families can also set up automatic payments to pay for meals.
- Check current balances and see any purchases made on your child’s account.
Meal Benefits Application: Annual renewal is now easier:
- Apply for Meal Benefits Application in Parent Portal
- Parents/Guardians must apply each year to qualify for free and reduced priced meals.
- By applying, you also help the district receive additional funding to support classroom learning.

Get to Know ALC Staff
Danielle Hasbrouck, Art Teacher
I have worked in Fridley Public Schools since 2009! 7 Years at Fridley Middle School, 4 years at Fridley High School, plus summer school at Hayes and RL Stevenson Elementary Schools for 7 years.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Rogers, MN and graduated from Elk River High School in 2004.
Education:
I went to college at University of Minnesota-Duluth and got a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education.
What do you love about your job?
I love helping my students develop their creative ideas and follow their passions in the arts. Making art is a healthy way of managing stress, expressing yourself, and passing time in an enjoyable way. During the pandemic it has become even more important for both young people and adults to practice an art form that they love to stay healthy and happy in these difficult times. I love that I can provide tools, and teach skills to help people nurture the inner artist in everyone.
Anything else we should know about you?
I am also the yearbook advisor for the ALC and Fridley High School. I made a special effort to make sure ALC students were represented and celebrated in the yearbook this year, especially our amazing seniors. If you are interested in purchasing the yearbook or have questions please contact me at hasbrouck@isd14.org.
