HMS Weekly Update

Week of March 3, 2025
Dear Ranger Families,
As part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment, we want to bring attention to an important issue affecting many students today—social media.
With the increasing use of platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and other social networking sites, we have observed a rise in cases of online harassment, cyberbullying, and inappropriate interactions among middle school students. While social media can be a valuable tool for communication and self-expression, it can also expose children to negative experiences that impact their emotional well-being and academic success.
We encourage you to have open conversations with your child about responsible social media use. Here are some ways you can help:
- Monitor Online Activity: Regularly check your child’s social media accounts and discuss the importance of appropriate online behavior.
- Encourage Open Communication: Let your child know they can come to you if they experience or witness online bullying.
- Set Boundaries: Establish clear guidelines on screen time, privacy settings, and online interactions.
- Report and Block: Teach your child how to report and block harmful content or individuals who engage in bullying.
We are dedicated to addressing bullying in all its forms. If your child is experiencing any form of online harassment, please reach out to us so we can provide support and guidance. Together, we can create a safer and more positive online environment for our students.
Thank you for your partnership in promoting digital responsibility and kindness among our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Mr. Endres and Ms. Coalter
