Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! I hope you all had a fantastic summer filled with fun, relaxation, and memorable moments. The staff and I are excited to greet our returning students and welcome our new students and their families to the Henry Ford Community.
We are fortunate to have an exceptional team of educators and support staff here at Henry Ford. Please join me in welcoming our new staff members:
- Ellen Hollander, TK
- Elizabeth Linares, K-2 SLC
- Jermel Aure, 1st Grade
- Eriana Thomas, 3rd Grade
- Kim Ortega, Bilingual Counselor
- Ashley Sheehy, Counselor
Starting a new school year is always exciting. It is a fresh start and an opportunity to reflect on our commitment to the students at Henry Ford. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally to achieve high intellectual performances for both personal and academic success. One of the most important components to fulfilling this mission is a strong partnership between home and school. We have incredibly dedicated families, but are always in need of more support and encourage every parent to get involved, any way they can!
Please make sure to update your ClassDojo account as that is our main form of communication. Staff will be available at Maze Day to support new and returning family who needs help creating/updating their account. You are also welcome to stop by the office anytime during school hours. All the information available at Maze Day is also available online.
I look forward to a fantastic school year and am excited to see the amazing things our students will accomplish.
Sincerely,
Ms. Knopf

Please note, if you report an absence after 10:00 am you may still receive an automated phone call asking you why your child is not in school. Families are still welcome to call the office and email the teacher when their child is absent.

DROP-Off & PICK-UP
Please follow the rules, so that EVERY student is safe:
- Use the crosswalk. If you park across the street, please walk to the crosswalk.
- No U-Turns in the middle of the street. It is against the law and dangerous.
- Parking Lot Entrance. Please do not enter or block the entry to the parking lot while you are waiting in line. Buses, staff, deliveries and maintenance need to be able to enter.
- Dismissal. Pick-up times are staggered to keep traffic flowing. If you have a student in 4th or 5th grade, please do not come early. Younger siblings will be supervised until you arrive.
BIRTHDAYS
Our district works hard to create balanced lunches that include whole grains, protein, fruits and vegetables. As such, please do not bring sugary treats to school to celebrate your child's birthday. Student birthdays are announced during our morning announcements. If you would like to do more, we suggest donating a book in your child's honor.
