Sunday, November 24 | Keep Your Fork
As Thanksgiving approaches, we gather with hearts full of anticipation. Be part of a celebration that reminds us of the incredible promise that the best is yet to come. Just as we hold onto our forks for dessert, let’s hold onto our faith, believing in the greater things God has in store for us.

Help Widen the Welcome with Your Financial Commitment for 2025
We are grateful to the 28 families who have completed their Estimate of Giving card to Widen the Welcome and financially support the ministries of the church throughout 2025. Of the 28 families, almost half committed to increase their giving and five are new pledges.
If you missed this week’s special stewardship newsletter, which includes a letter from Rev. Ashley Anne, it can be found below along with a link to the Estimate of Giving Commitment Form. Please submit your Estimate of Giving by Sunday, December 1.
Help Decorate the Church for Christmas
In preparation for the Christmas season, volunteers are needed on Sunday, November 24, to help decorate the sanctuary. Decorating will begin around 11 a.m. after the worship service and a light lunch will be available. Help fluff the trees, add the decorations, and enjoy fellowship with others!
Adopt a Rockbrook Student for Christmas
Wow! Our Vista Ridge family has adopted 46 Rockbrook angels for Christmas. This Sunday is the last opportunity to support a Rockbrook student and there are several who still need adopted.
Visit the Welcome Center on Sunday to select a Rockbrook student from the list or contact Laurie Kunke at laurie@vrumc.org for assistance.
The program asks for new items for the students based on their gift list and asks that a minimum of $100 is spent for each student. These are students who don’t have very much so the program relies on the generosity of the community during the holiday season.
Unwrapped gifts are to be returned in a plastic garbage bag with the angel code no later than Sunday, December 1.
Other Ways to Participate
The Lewisville ISD Angel Tree program also needs wrapping paper, shirt and coat boxes, and gift cards. All of the gifts are wrapped by Lewisville High School students and community volunteers prior to delivery to the families. All donations need to be at the church by December 1.
Adult Advent Study “Gift Exchange” to Begin December 1
Two adult small group opportunities will be offered this Advent season based on our churchwide worship series, Gift Exchange.
About the Advent Study | Life hands us difficult experiences that weigh us down: despair, anxiety, sorrow, darkness, and feelings of meaninglessness. In the midst of all this, God holds out precious and life-giving gifts—hope, peace, joy, love, light, and purpose. This Advent season, as we prepare for gift exchanges with friends and family, we will reflect on the gifts given to us by the greatest giver of all and how we can receive and embrace those gifts even in the most difficult of times.
Details | The groups will start on Sunday, December 1. There are two times offered 9-9:50 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon after worship concludes. Both groups will meet in Rooms 108-109. The study will be led by Lay Leader James Kunke. There are no reading assignments or homework required.
Women’s Advent Devotional by Kate Bowler in December
Join us for author and podcast host Kate Bowler’s four-week Women’s Advent Devotional, “The Weary World Rejoices.”
