Tiger Times
July 15th, 2024
August 30, 2024
Each week, Kiser families and staff receive a copy of the Tiger Times with important school-wide announcements, links to curriculum resources, and information about the cool things your Tigers are doing at school.
Car Riders
Thank you all for your patience as we address the increase in car riders we have seen this school year. We are working to streamline systems so that we can keep everyone safe during arrival and dismissal and get everyone to school and home in a timely manner.
Drop Off- Car rider drop off begins at 8:00 and ends at 8:20.
- After 8:20, students are tardy and must check in through the front office.
- Before 8:00, students are unsupervised and can't enter the building. Please help us keep your students safe by not dropping them off before 8:00.
- Car rider pick up begins at 3:20.
- We will begin using the Carline Hound app with our staff to organize the line. Students should have received a green card with their number on it last week. Be prepared to show your number to staff when they approach your vehicle. You don't need to download the app or have the exact card to pick up your child. All we need is the number! Feel free to provide it to anyone who might need to pick up your student. Here is the process:
- Show staff your car rider number.
- Staff enter the number you show them in the app.
- Staff will direct you to a numbered cone.
- The app shows the corresponding student's name on the screen in the classroom along with the cone they report to.
- The student comes to that cone and you are reunited!
- Once the line has diminished, all remaining car riders will be dismissed from their rooms to wait for their rides to arrive. At this point we will no longer call numbers. Students will approach your car once all cars have pulled into the loading zone.
Walkers
- Walkers will enter the building in the morning through the bus rider scanner entrance. This path allows them to approach the building safely using sidewalks and avoiding construction zones.
- Walkers will be dismissed by announcement at 3:20 in the afternoon through the main entrance at the front of the school.
- Talk to your walkers about the importance of obeying traffic signs, using crosswalks when available, and avoiding the construction zones around our campus.
PAWS Behavior Expectations
At Kiser, our scholars Practice Responsibility, Aim for Excellence, Work with Integrity, and Show Respect for Self and Others. These PAWS guide all the other expectations that we follow while we work, learn, and socialize at Kiser. Below, you will find the matrix that details expectations in certain areas of the school. Please go ahead and talk to your scholars about how important it is to meet these expectations.
Throughout the year, there are many incentives for students who consistently "Raise their PAWS" and meet expectations. On the other hand, not meeting expectations results in consequences. For more information about consequences and behavior expectations on the school and district level, please refer to the 2024-2025 GCS Family Handbook.
What Our Tigers Are Learning

- Bring your device each day fully charged
- Only use your device when instructed to do so and in the way you are supposed to
- Keep your device in your bag during all transitions so it isn't dropped or damaged
