UUCSJS Midweek Message
November 4, 2020
Minister's Meditation
Let us continue asking "What does it mean to be a people of healing?"
Instead of a Minister's Meditation this week, Rev. Dawn is offering a time of community and healing live at UUCSJS. Visit uucsjs.org for more information.
If you aren't able to join us in person today, the Unitarian Universalist Association is holding an online vigil Thursday, November 5, 2020.
Take some time this week to catch your breath and think about what healing you may need.
Rev. Dawn is available for pastoral care appointments Wednesday through Friday 10am - 3pm email minister@uucsjs.org.
This Sunday
Now What?
-Rev. Dawn Fortune
The voting is over and the ballots are being processed. The only thing that is for certain is how polarized and divided our nation is. So what do we do now? How do we return to some sense of community? Can we? Is it safe? Healing happens in its own time, and cannot be rushed or forced. But can we invite healing in? What might that look like? Is there work we must do first? Join us as we consider our new reality and how we might heal from the hurt we have experienced.
Join us Sunday at 10 am at www.tinyurl.com/uucsjszoom or call in to (929)436-2866 then enter: 2246776604#, 0#, 306591#.
Information on upcoming services can be found HERE.
For those hearing-impaired, pdf copies of Rev. Dawn's sermons are available on our website at the link above. Also, entire services are uploaded to our YouTube channel each Sunday afternoon where Closed Captioning is available.

Gratitude Slideshow - LAST CHANCE
Margaret Circle
Margaret Circle will meet through Zoom on Thursday, November 5, at 1:00 pm. The topic, led by Barbara Morell, will be Feminism. We will approach the subject by answering the following questions:
- 1970s: Where were you, and what did feminism mean to you?
- 2020: What about women today? What has changed, and what is the same?
There will be more questions for discussion and a chance to discuss our reactions to the election.
If you would like to attend and are not a regular attendee, you are welcome and can contact Betsy Searight or email uucsjsadmin@gmail.com for more information,
Book Club for November
Millennium Rising is the absolute BEST story of the always talked about Apocalypse. Jane Jensen does an excellent job of building characters which you can identify with and then takes you on a real roller coaster ride of suspense and intrigue. The story is captivating from page one and is very difficult to put down.
Arlene Yacka will be leading the meeting.
Book club will be meeting on ZOOM on Friday, November 20 at 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to join whether you have read the book or not.
QUESTIONS: email Barbara Morell or uucsjsadmin@gmail.com.
