Please provide them with any assignments or upcoming tests/quizzes ahead of time to make sure that they are on track with the work. Thank you for your patience, support and understanding and if you are able, please come see our students perform with the other honor students of the district.
CELEBRATE FRENCH NATIONAL WEEK
We wanted to share with you some exciting highlights from our recent French National Week celebrations at Elkins Pointe Middle School. You can use this message for the Titans News if needed. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience authentic cultural immersion and deepen their appreciation for the French language and culture.
One of the key events was "Le Petit Café des Titans", where our French students had the chance to try a variety of French pastries and cheeses. In this activity, students not only tasted these treats but also practiced speaking in French by expressing their likes and dislikes about the different foods. It was a fun and engaging way to connect with the culture while using the target language!
Additionally, our 8th-grade students participated in an assembly with EPMS alumni French students from Roswell High School lead by Barbara Bell. This event is part of our EPMS Alumni Ambassadors Program. These high school students shared their study abroad experiences, detailing their time living in France with a host family and how it impacted their understanding and appreciation of the language and culture. Their stories were inspiring, and I could see my 8th graders becoming even more motivated to continue their French studies in High School and beyond.
Overall, it was a week filled with learning, cultural exploration, and excitement, and I'm sure it had a lasting impact on our students.
ONIGIRI ACTION!
As part of the Food Unit, our 7th grade Japanese students learned about Onigiri (rice balls), a popular food in Japan. They also learned about the Onigiri Action campaign, a nationwide initiative that connects the joy of making onigiri with the global fight against hunger. In class, students had fun making onigiri and trying traditional fillings like salmon flakes, pickled plum, and seasoned seaweed. This hands-on activity helped them learn more about Japanese food culture while thinking about ways to help others.

Round Two of donations will be collected and sent to NFCC on Wednesday, November 20th. Please continue to send in food donation items!
