Halloween Costumes
Students in K-5 will BRING their costumes to school and change for the parade. We want costumes protected during our Fun Fair and at lunch.
π Keep it Spooky, Not Scary: Avoid costumes with violent or bloody images. It's okay to look "spooky," but nothing too gruesome. Please remember our elementary school has very young students that scare easily.
ποΈ Masks: Masks that cover the eyes and face are fine, as long as your child can see clearly.
π§₯ Safe Costumes: Make sure your childβs costume doesnβt have anything hanging below the wrist or ankle to avoid tripping or getting things caught.
- All costumes must be school-appropriate (the school dress code still applies).
π Easy-to-Carry Props: If your child has props, they should be easy to manage, especially if they take the bus. It is a hectic day, and items get lost after the parade or during the parties. It is best to add props and other costume additions (make-up/hair, etc.) after school for trick-or-treating.
π« No Weapons: Please donβt include any toy weapons in the costume.
To help with the changing process, please have your child practice putting their costume on over their school clothes before October 31st. Staff will assist with costumes, but it is easier if our students understand how to put them on themselves.
Halloween is a little different for our PreK classes.
Please watch for information about costumes and the parade from the PreK staff.
Halloween Parade π
Kindergarten will lead the parade out of RCES at 1:30.
The Halloween Parade Route
We will start on the south side of Main Street in front of the Fire Department, walk down Main Street, turn around between Lincoln and Center (before City Hall), and return to RCES on the north side of Main Street. Kindergarten will lead the parade this year.
Families that want to watch the parade can stand on the sidewalk on either side of Main Street.
