Our Mission:
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents,
We had a shortened week but a successful one. The first graders did a great job at their concert on Wednesday. Students have been working hard in the classroom and I have been pleased with high five behaviors in the hall and at lunch. Please encourage your child to work harder each and every day. I look forward to seeing many of you at the Polar Bear Dance tonight. Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jason Parrott

PTA POLAR BEAR DANCE!
FRIDAY NIGHT- 1-22
IT IS TIME ONCE AGAIN FOR THE POPULAR PTA POLAR BEAR DANCE. THE FUN BEGINS AT 7:00 P.M.(ends at 9:00 p.m.) IN THE GREAT ROOM (LUNCH ROOM). ALL OAK RIDGE STUDENTS AND PARENTS ARE INVITED TO DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY WITH THE RETURN OF OAK RIDGE'S FAVORITE DJ! Snacks and beverages will be provided. Unfortunately, siblings of students are not invited due to overcrowding. There will be a free will donation for a charity chosen by the PTA.
Parking:
We are getting into the thick of winter which can cause increase challenges for parking. We must all remember to be courteous of others and to abide by parking procedures. Please do not park on the left hand curb of the circle drive. Parking on the left hand curb causes safety and congestion issues for others. When dropping off in the morning, please pull up as far as possible in the front circle drive. This alleviates traffic backup and provides a safer drop off environment for all our students. Please do not stop in the middle lane to get out of your car.
In the back parking lot (off Rochester Rd.), please do not stop and park along the curb. Please circle through and drop your children off and continue on. They can line up outside their classroom door. On days that are below 15 degrees, we will invite them into the buildings and have them wait in the classroom. Thank you.

Guidelines for outdoor Safety Patrol in the winter months
The school district has set the guidelines for outdoor safety patrol. If the temperature with the windchill is below 15 degrees the students are not to be on post. Indoor safety patrol members are on duty regardless of the weather. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
No Professional Development Late Starts In January:
A friendly reminder that there are no professional development late start days in the month of January. Please have your children at school by 8:20. Thank you.
Dress your Children for Winter Weather
Please send your children to school with a warm coat, boots, snowpants, hat, mittens. The children will go out for lunch recess every day unless it is between 12 and 15 degrees or below factoring in the wind chill. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Have a question:
In the beginning of the year, Oak Ridge had a Curriculum Night to explain what your child will be doing this year in school. We understand that questions will occur throughout the year and wanted to provide a forum for those questions to be answered. We are instituting an Online Curriculum Forum to answer any specific questions you may have. If you have a question regarding overall school procedures, grade level content, schools of choice, or special education services please click on the following Google form: http://goo.gl/forms/toJIVPxQBb. Please make sure all questions are appropriate. We are all a community here, and as a community we need to treat each other with respect. Answers to questions will be posted on a weekly basis.
