That's a wrap on ILEARN! Most scholars completed their assessments over the last two weeks. If your child was late or absent at any time during the ILEARN window, they will need to complete their make-up test. They will be pulled from class to do this as soon as possible.

Thank you to those families that were able to join us for Pastries with Parents on Tuesday this week. It was great to see you! We will have one more family event for the year in May. Stay tuned for more details.

Sun Bucks is a new program to help families feed school aged children while school is out for the summer. I have included a general outline of the program below. The deadline to enroll for this program is May 1st. It is essential that we have your current address on file with the school in order to be eligible for enrollment. If you need assistance with enrollment, or would like to check your address on file, please call the school at 317-226-4293.

It's time to enroll for Summer Advantage! The opportunity to receive transportation has closed, but it's not too late if you would like your child to attend.

Enrollment for Summer Advantage is open! Are you looking for an excellent summer enrichment program to help scholars maintain their academic skills? PLA@93 is hosting Summer Advantage at our building. This opportunity is open to all of our scholars currently in kindergarten through 5th grade. Current 6th grade scholars can enroll in the summer Advantage program at JRPLA. Programming will take place from June 10th-July 12th. The best part is that this opportunity is completely FREE! You may enroll online at school from 8:00-1:00. Computers will be available. The deadline to receive transportation was April 8th. Applications for scholars received after April 8 will not receive transportation.

PLA@93 will have lead testing on Monday, May 13th, 2024 for grades 3-4 and again on Wednesday, May 15th for grades 5-6. The teachers will pass out the consent forms for testing. Parents, please fill them out and send them back. If you have already filled out and sent in consent thank you.

1. Encourage your child to drink lots of water the day before and the morning of the test. For a blood test, it can make it easier to draw blood.

2. We will send the lead test results to the student's address.

This week's community resource is affordable summer basketball training by Melvin Tillman. Melvin is a 3X All American winner, was voted NAIA HAAC player of the year, and is a Central Methodist University Hall of Fame inductee. Additionally, Melvin has many years of experience coaching and training basketball to boys and girls of all ages. Melvin offers a very flexible schedule by allowing families to schedule sessions at their convenience. Please reach out to Melvin Tillman at 765-960-0037.

PLA@93 is enrolled in the Box Tops for Education program to raise money for our school! Box tops has done away with the traditional box tops clips, but now they have an app where you can scan your receipt and earn points instantly. Box Tops are worth $.10 each and they add up fast! Twice a year, our school receives a check to help pay for whatever we need - equipment, supplies or experiences the kids love! This is a very easy way to earn money for the school. All you have to do is shop, scan, and earn points!

5. To see where your child's classroom stands on our leaderboard, open the Box Tops app, tap on the school card on the Home screen and check out Fall Leaderboard on the school dashboard.

Want to give credit for a digital or email receipt? Go into the Box Tops app, tap on the My Earnings button at the top of the screen and tap on the transaction you'd like to credit. Scroll past the list of products and tap on Give Credit at the bottom of the screen. Then, select your child's classroom.
