Principal's Message
LES Parents,
How is it possibly November already?!?!? Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped to make our Fall Harvest Parties soooo awesome for our students yesterday!!! There was so much excitement in the air all day long, and we love that our tiger cubs look forward to having fun at school!!!!
This week, we held our general education data review and our reading intervention data review meetings. At these meetings, we have the opportunity to discuss the progress of all of our students with a focus on making sure that all of our students are growing in all areas.
Next week, our parent teacher conferences will be held on Monday after school and all day on Tuesday. Our students will have a remote learning day on Tuesday. Please be on the lookout for assignments for that day to be coming home soon.
Next Wednesday, we will be having our first Dine & Donate at Raising Cane's!!! We appreciate Raising Cane's partnering with LES!!]
Best of luck to our third grade LYF football team and cheerleaders as they play in the Super Bowl for the GCYFL this Sunday at 12:40 at Oak Hills High School -- GO TIGERS!!!!!

Science and Innovation Expo
This year Loveland will be hosting our first ever Science and Innovation Expo! The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 9 am to 12 pm at Loveland High School. This day is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the amazing learning that happens around Loveland! The Science and Innovation Expo is a one-day event that incorporates two pathways for students to pick from, a Science Expo and an Innovation Expo.
For more information about each pathway, click here to watch a video, or read the brief description below:
Here is more information about each pathway:
- The Science Expo is a traditional science fair where students have the opportunity to conduct a scientific research project or engineering design project, and present their findings to their peers and community judges, with the opportunity to qualify for Regional Science Day at University of Cincinnati, called the Science and Engineering Expo. If students achieve well at UC, they have the opportunity to qualify for State Science Day at Ohio State University. This pathway is open to students in grades 5-12, and students can present individually or up to groups of three.
- The Innovation Expo is an open-ended opportunity for students to identify a problem and solve it with something they will create, or to simply create and share something creative, inventive, or innovative. Some ideas may be a DIY craft, coding/computer science project, an engineering creation, or anything else in which your child creates something to share! This pathway is open to all students grades PreK-12, and community judges will provide informal feedback about strengths of each project, as well as areas to grow. Students can participate individually or up to groups of three.
To learn more details about the event, how to submit a project, project ideas, and project requirements, visit Loveland's website at https://lovelandschools.org/expo
For any questions, please reach out to innovation@lovelandschools.org. We hope to see you on February 1st!
LMS Drama: Finding Nemo Jr.
Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. is a musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

Kindness Council Update
This month for our Kindness Council meeting, we discussed spreading the word to support our Veterans. With Veterans Day approaching, we would love for all Loveland students to participate by writing a letter or drawing a picture to send to our Veterans. If your child would like to write a letter to a veteran, we will be collecting letters in an envelope outside Room 100. The deadline for collecting letters will be Monday, November 4th, so we can ensure they are sent in time for Veterans Day.
LOVELAND LEARNING GARDEN
Help us make breathing room for native wildflowers and trees to thrive as we clear invasive honeysuckle from our nature trail. Ask your kids what they know about the impact of nonnatives on biodiversity and how we all can make a positive impact! Everyone invited - bring your team, club, scouts, family! Service hours are available.
Yearbook Cover Contest
The state of Ohio requires that school districts provide an identification procedure for gifted/talented students. However, per the Ohio Department of Education, school districts are not required to serve. Click here to learn more about how Loveland serves gifted students. Loveland offers full grade testing in second and fourth grades. If students/parents/teachers wish to refer a student for gifted testing outside of the full-grade testing options, referral forms are available from the school office. The referral testing options will take place during November and February. Students who qualify for LES pull-out gifted services during these testing periods will receive their services beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. If you would like to refer your child for fall testing, the form is due to the LES school counselor no later than November 15, 2024.
