Readathon Update
Coosa Family,
Grandparents are an essential part of our children's lives and can play a big role in helping them "Begin with the End in Mind" by supporting their reading goals. During our Read-A-Thon, grandparents can help "Synergize" with us by donating to your child’s reading goal and encouraging their love for books.
To help them get involved, here’s a link you can use to easily email them about supporting our fundraiser:
https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/tool/323334343133/1
Together, we can "Sharpen the Saw" and build a lifelong passion for reading in our students!
We'd like to give a special shout out to Stay Strong Fitness for their generous donation of $500.
2025-26 Public Budget Forums Information
Two public forums are scheduled for educators, parents, and community members to learn more about the school district budget being developed by the Beaufort County Board of Education for the 2025-26 school year.
The first forum will be Bluffton High School at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 30. The second will be at Beaufort High School at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 1.
Individuals who are unable to attend can also view the proposed budget and provide feedback through BCSD Connected at https://connectbeaufortschools.org/. The FY 2025-26 Budget Process feedback forum will be open through March 7.
Habits for a Happy Home
Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood - Active Listening
This week, we focus on Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, which teaches students to listen before speaking. Practice active listening by giving your full attention when they are speaking. Encourage them to listen carefully when others are talking and to ask questions to clarify their understanding. Praise your child when they demonstrate patience and understanding in their conversations.
District Dash 5K
It's not too late to sign up. We'd LOVE to see your family at the event.
Reminder: Beaufort County Schools will be hosting the District Dash 5K in conjunction with Palmetto Running Company’s existing 5K on March 15, 2025 in Bluffton, SC.
Students and families are encouraged to participate with their school group. At registration, participants can select the school they are supporting. Multiple selections can be made with students attending different schools in one family.
