MCA Testing
📚 MCA Testing Begins Soon – Let's Set Our Students Up for Success!
Dear FMS Families,
We are entering an important time of year—MCA Testing Season—and we’re asking for your support in helping your student prepare to do their very best!
Why MCAs Matter:
The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs) are a valuable tool that helps us understand how well students are meeting grade-level standards. The results help guide instruction, support school improvement efforts, and even impact how our school is seen in the community. Strong effort from students reflects positively on all of us!
How Families Can Help:
We encourage you to have a positive conversation with your child about the importance of giving their best effort during testing. Remind them that while these tests are just one measure of learning, their effort matters—for themselves, their teachers, and their school.
Tips for a Successful Testing Experience:
-
Get plenty of sleep the night before each testing day
-
Eat a healthy breakfast to fuel focus and stamina
-
Bring a water bottle for hydration—students are welcome to have water during testing
-
Arrive to school on time and ready to go!
Testing Schedule:
-
Reading: April 14–18
-
Math: April 22–25
-
Science: April 29–May 2 (for students in tested grades)
Testing will take place in students’ regular classes.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s academic success. With your encouragement and our shared high expectations, we know our students will rise to the challenge! If there are any questions we can answer for you, please contact us at 507-333-6300.
🌸 Spring Sports Season is Here! 🌸
We’re excited to welcome the start of the Spring Sports Season at FMS! As the weather warms up, our students are getting ready to compete in Softball, Baseball, Boys and Girls Golf, Boys and Girls Track, and Trap Shooting.
We can’t wait to see our student-athletes in action—giving their best effort, showing great sportsmanship, and representing our school with pride!
Why Participation Matters:
Being involved in school-sponsored activities offers so many benefits beyond the playing field:
-
Builds character and strengthens work ethic
-
Teaches teamwork, discipline, and leadership
-
Improves time management and academic engagement
-
Supports physical and mental wellness
-
Creates lasting friendships and positive school connections
Let’s show up and cheer them on this season! Thank you to our coaches, families, and school staff for your continued support of our student-athletes. Go Falcons! 🦅
