Principal's Message
I want to thank those of you who were able to make it this morning to the Coffee Chat. It was such a rich conversation around supporting our children with mobile devices. Thank you to everyone for sharing your ideas around this topic. One important take-away I had this morning was this importance of tapping into our community as we navigate this parenting journey.
Here is a link to the slides that sparked our discussion.
WCEF Read-a-Thon 2024!
We are reading, reading, reading! The school is doing a great job, but let’s keep it up. Students who raise $150 or more are entered into a raffle for a gift card, and the student with the most sponsors or most minutes read at our school will be entered into a raffle for prizes, too.
Ask your student about BINGO and encourage your student to do fun things like read to a pet or teddy, read outside, and more. The funds raised through the Read-a-thon are so important to fund your student’s art, music, and science lab classes.
If you have any questions about Pledgestar, you can reach out by calling 1-888-598-7510 or emailing WCEF at contact@wcefk12.org.
For all things Read-a-thon related (leaderboard, prizes, FAQ, how-to videos) visit wcefk12.org/readthon.
Families, please remember to register your student at pledgestar.com/wcef/ if you haven’t already.

Walking Club - Let's Bring It Back! 👣
Lunch recess is about to get more exciting with the revival of Walking Club - but we need your help to get it going! The students absolutely love walking their laps and earning achievement awards, and are eager to start. With your involvement, we can make it happen again this school year.
If you're available to help out during 1st-5th grade lunch recess (~11:25am -12:45pm), please raise your hand via our Volunteer Vault.
📅 Mark Your Calendars: Parent-Teacher Conferences & Shortened Day Schedules 📅

WCEF’s 5th Annual Read-a-thon is here
Our 5th annual Read-a-thon started strong on Monday with SO many readers and minutes logged! There’s still plenty of time to join in the fun and raise money to help WCEF ensure all students have access to a comprehensive education, open libraries, and a vast array of electives. Our goal is to raise $185,000! We can do this. To sign up, please visit pledgestar.com/wcef.
DID YOU KNOW? Only 9% of schools in California benefit from a credentialed librarian and 50% of library funding comes from the community. It's up to us to support our libraries!
Exciting prizes include soccer ball fidget spinners, stickers, gift cards and other fun incentives. One lucky reader will even win a PanCoast pizza dinner!
