From Our Principal, Mrs. Holmes
Hi Families,
As many of you know, I have had a very trying season, but I am truly blessed to have such an amazing Rosebud Family. I received many emails and calls checking in on my mom as she battles cancer. She just had her surgery and is recovering well, so thank you.
I have a few other updates. In September, I met with the Local School Council, and we shared a few ideas about ways we can make the front vestibule more "family friendly". We now have a coffee bar in the vestibule for families to use. Right above the coffee bar is an area for our Rosebud families to advertise their businesses by leaving business cards. Rosebud strives to bridge the gap between the school and the community and what better way than to share all of the wonderful businesses of our parents. I see so many talented people and local businesses when standing in the car rider lane. Let's allow everyone to get to know what resources there are within our community.
Fundraiser Updates
The catalogue fundraiser items have been sent off but will not be ready for pick up. We had several delays during the fundraiser that has pushed the pickup date into November. I am working with the company and will send information to all families regarding the date of arrival.
Lost and Found
Parents, our lost and found is filling up quickly. Feel free to stop in and take a look. We will have a Good Will Drop by the end of October.
Data
Rosebud is proud to be making steady gains in our scores. Ms. Holmes will have a recorded video link that will be shared with you during conference week. This video link will give an overview of our current school performance. Teachers will be given copies of the video link and provide it to parents. For parents who are not able to attend, the link will go out in the parent square following conference week.
Again, I am so proud of the work our teachers, students, and families put into making each and every student have an amazing school experience. Thank you for all you do! Below are a few pictures from some of our past events.

(Reminder) October's SEL Newsletter: Responsibility
This month we are talking about Responsibility. One way to define Responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” Taking action can mean doing the right thing or completing the tasks you have been assigned. Understanding the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. Positive and responsible actions can help people and irresponsible actions can hurt others. Check out our Responsibility Newsletter here!
November is Parent Engagement Month!
November is Parent Engagement Month! We invite you to get involved!
Here is a calendar of activities to help spark your involvement and engagement next month.
Let your child know you care about effort.
Your child is likely to work hard and learn as much as possible in school if you make it clear that you place a high value on effort. For instance, when your child shows you a high test score, instead of just saying "Hooray!" say "I know how hard you studied. Your hard work has really paid off." When your elementary schooler finishes reading a book, you can say, "You made a real effort to finish that book. I'm proud of you." Learn more here!
Important Reminders
Does your child have an upcoming birthday? Looking for a unique way to celebrate?
You can help make your child's birthday extra special by putting their name in lights! For $15, you can have your child's name displayed on our school marquee as well as on the schoolwide eClass page for a day. Place your order on mypaymentsplus.com.
- Remember to send in an excuse note for any student absences. This can be a personal note, a doctor's note, or a simple message to your child's teacher through Parent Square.
- Please remember that student checkout stops at 2:00 each day, as we begin to prepare for dismissal at that time.
- We understand that transportation changes can occur on occasion. Please be sure to email RosebudTransportation@gcpsk12.org by 12noon to communicate any changes to our staff.
- All parents who enter the building must have an ID. Please make sure to always have your ID with you when visiting Rosebud ES for any reason.
- Follow us on Facebook and stay up to date with events and reminders!
Have you joined PTA? We'd love to have you be a part of making our school the best it can be.
