FESTIVAL OF CULTURES
We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent Baker Festival of Cultures held on April 28th from 6 to 8 PM. This school-wide, family-friendly event brought together hundreds of community members in a vibrant celebration of belonging and appreciation for all cultures.
Our gymnasium and cafeteria were transformed into a colorful tapestry of cultural displays, with students and families enjoying amazing country and cultural exhibits. Guests embarked on an immersive "around the world" tour, guided by passports that led them to tables adorned with traditional fabrics and posters showcasing cultural heritage. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students dressed in traditional attire and performed captivating cultural dances.
We are proud to announce that the event raised $1400 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, thanks to the generous contributions of our community. Special thanks go to Mrs. Burt and the International Club, Mr. Quinn, Mr. Fahnestock, and all the community member table hosts and performers who made this event possible.
The Baker Festival of Cultures truly embodied the spirit of unity and appreciation for diversity that defines our community. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this evening a memorable success!

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE CEREMONY
On Wednesday, April 30th we hosted our annual Academic Excellence Award Ceremon. This is a prestigious recognition reserved for students who achieve A's in all their classes during every marking period from sixth grade to eighth grade. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and commitment to academic excellence.
This year, we are honored to welcome back former Academic Excellence Award winners who are now high school seniors. These outstanding individuals will join us during the ceremony to speak with our current cohort of Academic Excellence students. This unique opportunity allows our eighth-grade students to engage in meaningful conversations with high school seniors, gaining valuable insights into what they can anticipate in high school.
The seniors offered advice, shared their experiences, and discussed their future plans as they prepare to attend college next year. The mentorship and inspiration provided by our high school seniors are invaluable, fostering a sense of community and continuity within our school. We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our students and to support them as they continue their educational journey.
We invite you to join us in celebrating the success of our Academic Excellence Award program and the incredible opportunity for mentorship and inspiration it provides. Your support and encouragement are essential in nurturing the growth and development of our students. Thank you for being a part of our vibrant community.
