2024 NHS Induction

Congratulations to all new members! A special thanks to Representative Meschino and Principal Scott for their remarks as well as the CHS cafeteria staff for providing cookies and refreshments.

Kindness Committee

This past month, the NHS Kindness Committee organized an appreciation breakfast for CHS faculty. The Joseph Osgood Chapter recognizes the tremendous effort that teachers put in to their classes along with writing letters of recommendation for seniors. Thank you teachers and faculty for all you do to support CHS students.

ISP Highlights

Alex Sturdy

Alex is creating a new website for the Cohasset Food Pantry as his ISP project. Pictured is the html coding that he is writing for the website within the Visual Studio code editor.

Layla Haddad

In collaboration with the Cohasset Historical Society, Layla is working to create a digital document for the Beechwood Cemetery. The document will help guide visitors with information about Cohasset residents and their contributions to the town. Layla hopes that the project will give people the opportunity to "access and learn about the town's historical significance."

Addison Marshak

Addison is assisting the Cohasset Education Foundation (CEF) by photographing and documenting education donations to Cohasset Public Schools through CEF grants. By publicizing the impact of the grants, Addison hopes to help inspire future education-based donations.

Service Highlights

Holiday Boutique

The Cohasset Education Foundation holds an annual holiday boutique to raise money for Cohasset Public Schools. Children are given the opportunity to shop and wrap gifts for loved ones during the event. Several NHS members took part in the boutique and helped children with selecting gifts.

Thanks-For-Giving 5K Road Race

NHS members volunteered at the Thanks-For-Giving 5k. Responsibilities for volunteers included handing out water and directing people after crossing the finish line.

Blanket Drive for the Scituate Animal Shelter

As part of her ISP, Mary Williams organized a blanket making event at the Paul Pratt Library. Many NHS members volunteered and were able to create various cat and dog blankets to be delivered to the Scituate Animal Shelter.
