WHAT A GREAT FIRST WEEK!!!
Students, staff, and families I can’t thank you enough for wonderful start to school. We
spent the week beginning to open our content and kick starting the learning process. We also
spent time reviewing the student handbook and building relationships with each other. We have a
great opportunity to turn a great week into an incredible year.
Thanks to our custodial staff that has our school looking and smelling clean and fresh
each day. Thanks to our cafeteria staff that have our students well fed and energized each day.
Thanks to our teachers for being prepared and excited to welcome our students back. Thanks to
our students and their families for being a part of our school and doing the little things needed to
make this a positive week.
With that in mind I wanted to bring your attention to a few items that we addressed this
week and would appreciate your cooperation on moving forward. The dress code was enforced
towards the end of this week. Students please make sure that you have reviewed and are in
compliance with the dress code before arriving to school each day. The time you spend changing
clothes during a dress code violation affects your success in the classroom not only for that day
but for the semester as a whole. A few of the more common dress code issues are headgear, holes
in jeans, and shorts that do not reach an acceptable length. We appreciate each of you and your
efforts to assist us in addressing this concern. Secondly, tardies and attendance are critical to
your success in the classroom. Students that arrive late to a class or students that are absent lose
valuable instructional time that can hinder their success in their classes. As a reminder, the
school day starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:05 PM. Students we need you in class the entire day
to fully provide you with the needed content to be successful. Finally, outside food is not allowed
in the building. This means that students should not bring food or have food delivered to the
school from outside providers. Our cafeteria staff works incredibly hard to provide a variety of
delicious options and your support of their efforts is greatly appreciated. As always students are
allowed to bring a packed lunch from home each day if they prefer.
Your attitude and your engagement this week demonstrated exactly what PQ Proud is all
about. We will continue to grow together and make PCHS the best school it can be. Rest up this
weekend and let’s make week two even better than week 1.
