FULLER FAMILY NEWS
From the Principal's Desk
Fuller Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, I find myself reflecting on the journey we've shared. It’s truly bittersweet to see another academic year come to a close. While we celebrate the incredible achievements and growth of our students, we also feel the poignant farewell of this chapter in their educational journey. As C.S. Lewis once said, "There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind."
We have a series of exciting and heartfelt events lined up to mark the end of the school year. Please make note of the following important dates:
**May 20th**
- 1st Grade Awards @ 9:00 AM
- 3rd Grade Awards @ 2:00 PM
**May 21st**
- Michelle Baker’s Birthday
- 2nd Grade Awards @ 9:00 AM
- 4th Grade Awards @ 2:00 PM
- 5th Grade Celebration @ 6:00 PM
**May 22nd**
- Kinder Walk and Celebration @ 8:30 AM
- Early Release Day @ Noon
**May 23rd**
- 5th Grade Walk Out @ 11:15 AM
- Early Release @ Noon (Last Day of School)
**Kinder Walk and Celebration (May 22nd @ 8:30 AM):** Our Kindergarten students will leave their classrooms at 8:30 AM and walk down past the cafeteria towards the specials area, proceeding through each pod. All other students will line the hallways to applaud and congratulate our young learners. Parents are invited to gather around the main hallway to share in this joyous moment. Following the walk, the Kindergarten students will return to the cafeteria for their awards ceremony, following the established awards plan.
**5th Grade Walk Out (May 23rd @ 11:15 AM):** Our 5th-grade students will line up in their hallway at 11:15 AM and begin their walkout, passing through the 3rd and 4th grade hall, the 1st/2nd grade pod, the PK/K pod, by the cafeteria, and towards the front office. They will culminate their walk with a spirited cheer in the front office, sending everyone off with energy and excitement for the final day of school. Parents are welcome to line the interior hallways to witness and celebrate this milestone.
We look forward to seeing you at these events and celebrating the accomplishments of our incredible students. Thank you for your continued support and partnership throughout the year. Have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the fall.

2024-2025 Registration Open!
What school am I zoned for?
Returning Transfer Students
Returning transfer students residing outside of the Aubrey ISD attendance zones and returning students requesting an elementary campus transfer must complete the transfer renewal application. Approved transfer renewals (students who were approved to attend and are enrolled during 2023-2024) can then complete the online registration.
New Transfer Students
Families residing outside of the Aubrey ISD attendance zones can complete a transfer application if they are interested in having their children enrolled at Aubrey ISD. Space is limited and transfer decisions will not be made until enrollment is finalized and may be after the first day of school. Transfer students are encouraged to enroll in their home campus until accepted in case the grade level or campus closes. New transfers cannot register online unless they have been approved and have completed the transfer paperwork. A student who moved out of the district during the school year will need to complete a transfer application.
Medication Pick Up
We are nearing the end of the school year!! Woot woot! This letter is just to remind you that your student has medication in our clinic. The medication will need to be picked up by a parent; we cannot send home the medication in your students backpack. Please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication in person on the last full day of school (May 21st, 2024) or prior. If you do not pick up the leftover medication it will be disposed of.
If your child will be taking medication next year, please fill out a NEW medication form that is signed by both you and your child’s physician. You can bring us this form when you drop off the medication at the beginning of the year. You can find this form on our school’s website. Please note that Asthma, Seizure, and Allergy action plans will also need to be updated and filled out for the upcoming school year prior to the first day of school.
WE HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!
Thank you for entrusting us with your sweet kiddos!

School Store Fundraiser!
Hello Parents,
I want to personally thank all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed.
If your family has not participated, there's still time!
This safe and easy fundraiser is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached.
Please help now. It really will make a difference.
Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000369738 to show our valued teachers your support.
Thanks
Jackie Fuller Elementary School
P.S. Family participation is the key to our success, and we are counting on you!

From the Nurse
District Policy on Student Illness
Parents, if your child has a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, please keep your student home until symptom free 24 hours without the use of medications. This will greatly reduce the spread of illness, and help us keep our Students, Faculty and Staff Healthy. Per our student handbook:
Illness (All Grade Levels)
"When your child is ill, please contact the school to let us know he or she will not be attending that day. State rules require schools to exclude students with certain illnesses from school for certain periods of time. For example, if a child has a fever over 100 degrees, he or she must stay out of school until fever free for 24 hours without use of fever-reducing medications. Students with diarrheal illnesses must stay home until they are diarrhea-free without use of diarrhea-suppressing medications for 24 hours (p. 69)."
If your student is sent home from school due to illness they will need to be symptom free 24 hours prior to returning unless cleared by a healthcare provider and note provided. If your student is sent to school before 24 hours without a doctor's note, you will be called by the nurse to come pick up your student. If your student is to be out longer than 24 hours, please provide a parent or doctor's note and e-mail: sharrison@aubreyisd.net.
If your student is due or has had recent immunizations please e-mail them to Nurse Perlick at tperlick@aubreyisd.net so that she can keep your students records updated. If your student is behind on immunizations they will not be able to attend class and you will have to come pick up your student. These will also not be excused absences. Thank you for your help.
ATTENDANCE
Here at Fuller, our campus wide attendance goal is 96%.
During the first nine weeks of school, five grade levels met or exceeded the campus' attendance goal.
Here at Fuller, we will continue to recognize attendance, engage students and families, monitor attendance data, provide early outreach and respond to barriers of attendance.
Families, please remember a habit of attendance is a school readiness skill. If your child is going to be absent, please notify your child's classroom teacher and our campus registrar sharrison@aubreyisd.net.
PARENT/DOCTORS NOTES- Please be sure you emails regarding absences to sharrison@aubreyisd.net. You may also drop a hard copy of a parent or doctor's note in the front office. Parents, please email notes to Mrs. Harrison as well so that she can document absences as they occur. Once we come back from break, we will not be able to access semester 1 to adjust attendance. Thank you.

Arrival and Dismissal
*** Bikers must walk their bikes across crosswalks and on school property ***
We also ask that bike riders walk their bikes when on campus for safety of all.
Thank you for your attention to this.
Dismissal Issue
When the cars park in the red marked areas, vehicles exiting the car line cannot exit safely without coming out in the street. So to prevent any accidents, I will be placing 6 cones in the area. I have suggested to parents who parked there, to pull up to the school zone sign and park there.
I have included a map of the location with "NO PARKING IN RED AREAS" on the map.
Important Information
- Anyone entering the building MUST be prepared to show ID BEFORE entering
- IDs or car tags will be checked at dismissal for car and walk ups.
- Please label all jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles.
- Transportation changes must be sent to FESTransportation@aubreyisd.net by 2PM daily.
- No visitors for lunch until after Labor Day.
- Instruction begins at 7:40 (students MUST be in seats by then)
- School day ends at 3:15
If you have any questions, email Mr. Smith at n.smith@aubreyisd.net

Attendance
Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.
A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.
In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
