Note from the MHS Counselors on Semester 2 Schedule Changes:
The last day to request a schedule change for the second semester is Monday, February 3rd at the end of the school day. Students who would like a schedule change considered need to complete and return a schedule change request form HERE
Schedule changes are not guaranteed and need to align with the MHS Schedule Change policy. Appropriate reasons to request a schedule change are as follows:
I would like to level change (i.e. honors to standard / AP to standard) *** I would like to add / drop a study hall I am missing a prerequisite for this course I have been approved for Dual Enrollment/Work Experience I completed this class over the summer / through credit recovery I did not pass the 2nd term of a two term course I am a senior missing a graduation credit I have medical documentation supporting the need for a change Sincerely, the MHS Counseling Team
2025-26 Course Registration Information
Dear MHS Parents and Guardians,
As we begin planning for the 2025/2026 school year, we want to provide you with important information regarding course registration for current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. Below is an outline of the registration timeline and key details to ensure a smooth process for your child:
Important Dates:
February 3rd - 7th: High school counselors will visit 9th-11th grade English classes to present important registration information. Registration packets will be distributed to all students this week. Please ask your child for this important information. Links to grade level specific presentations can be found below.
February 3rd - 11th: Infinite Campus portal (Academic Planner) will be open for students to input their course selections. Instructions to enter course requests in the Academic Planner HERE.
February 11th: Course Requests finalized in Infinite Campus
Students will finalize their course selections during Advisory class.
Students will be asked to turn in their Map It Out sheet with a parent signature during Advisory class.
The Infinite Campus Academic Planner will close at 3:30 PM. No entries or adjustments will be accepted after this date.
Course Selection Guidelines:
Current 9th Grade Students (Incoming 10th Graders): Presentation HERE
Should be scheduled for 7-8 credits, including:Sophomore English or Honors Sophomore English (1 credit)
World History or AP World History (1 credit)
1 credit of Math
1 credit of Science
Combination of Electives
Current 10th Grade Students (Incoming 11th Graders): Presentation HERE
Should be scheduled for 7-8 credits, including:Junior English or AP Language (1 credit)
US History or AP US History (1 credit)
1 credit of Math
1 credit of Science
Personal Finance (.5 credits)
Combination of Electives
Current 11th Grade Students (Incoming 12th Graders): Presentation HERE
Incoming 12th grade students should be scheduled for 7-8 credits, including:1 credit English
1 credit Math (recommended for college preparation)
1 credit Science (recommended for college preparation)
1 credit Social Studies (recommended for college preparation)

Important Notes for Senior Year:
The minimum number of credits required to maintain full-time student status in senior year is 6.5 credits.
School Counselors strongly encourage students to maintain a rigorous academic schedule through their senior year to best prepare for post-graduation opportunities, including college and career readiness.

Schedule changes for the 2025/2026 school year will only be made on a very limited basis and for the appropriate reasons. Please help ensure that your child is selecting a balanced and appropriate schedule for their academic and personal goals. Early College Credit Program
Early College Credit Program (ECCP) allows a student in grades 9-12 to apply to enroll in a UW System institution or a participating private/nonprofit institution of higher education (IHE), to take one or more courses up to 18 credits, for which the student may earn high school credit and post-secondary credit. Students must meet certain criteria. For information about ECCP in the UW System, please click here. For information about ECCP in the WAICU (Private Colleges & Universities), please click here. The deadline for submitting completed ECCP applications for Fall Semester 2025 is March 1, 2025. Completed applications can be turned in to your School Counselor.
Start College Now
Start College Now allows a student in grades 11-12 to apply to enroll in a Wisconsin Technical College, to take one or more courses up to 18 credits, for which the student may earn high school credit and post-secondary credit. Students must meet certain criteria. For information on Start College Now, please click here. For information about Start College Now and Waukesha County Technical College please click here. The deadline for submitting completed Start College Now applications for Fall Semester 2025 is March 1, 2025. Completed applications can be turned in to your School Counselor. Students cannot be enrolled in both ECCP and Start College Now at the same time.
