A Message from Our Principal

Dear TIMA Families,

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and what better way to show your child some love than by joining them for their Student-Led Conference on Friday, February 14? This is a special time for students to take center stage, sharing their progress, achievements, and goals directly with you.

Your presence sends a powerful message—that you value their hard work, their growth, and their voice in their own education. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to celebrate how they’ve met or even exceeded their goals this year!

If you haven’t signed up yet, please reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule your time. We look forward to seeing you there!

Tybee Spring Shorebird Festival

TIMA will have a table at this year's Spring Shorebird Festival on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 11am-3pm at the Tybee Marine Science Center. Families are encouraged to come by and visit the TIMA table and enjoy the festival!

TIMA Annual Plant Sale

Tybee Island Maritime Academy has partnered with the Tybee Island Catholic Women's Club and Savannah-based Oelschig Nursery for a Spring Fundraising Plant Sale. All profits from TIMA purchases will be used to revitalize campus grounds and maintain our garden bed in the Tybee Community Garden. Orders can be placed between Feb 4th and 24th. All orders must be paid in advance; cash and check are preferred and should be taken to the TIMA front office. Please make out checks to TIMA with "Plant Sale" in the memo. Plants will be available for pick up on Friday, March 28 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm and Saturday, March 29 from 10am to noon in the St. Michael's parking lot.

Track is Back!

Track and Field is here for grades 6-8! Monday, February 10th coaches will model events.

Practices will take place every Monday and Wednesday at the places indicated on the graphic above.

Girls Soccer- Rescheduled

Due to the extension of basketball season, Girls soccer tryouts have been rescheduled.

During dismissal, Athletes will be called to the front of the main building at 3:40, load their bags into a coach's vehicle, and jog together to Jaycee Park.

It is recommended that players have a change of clothes, sneakers (for the jog), cleats and shin guards for tryouts.

Georgia Climate Parent Survey

We need your help in completing the Georgia Parent Survey. The Georgia Parent Survey was developed to measure parent perceptions of school climate at your child’s school. Your opinion is very important to us. Your survey responses are confidential and will be combined with the survey responses of other parents at your child’s school to identify areas in need of improvement. It should only take ten or fifteen minutes to complete the survey. The deadline to complete the survey is Friday March 1, 2024. Thank you for your time and participation.
