School Highlights
Circle of Life Academy in White Earth, Minnesota
The sixth through twelfth graders at Circle of Life Academy in White Earth, Minnesota, braved the cold weather and headed onto the lake to ice fish. The students learned how to carve a hole in the ice, make a fire on frozen water and catch hungry fish.
The White Earth Department of Natural Resources and Police Department ensured everyone had a fun and enlightening learning experience.
Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma
Riverside Indian School held its annual homecoming celebration and named the Riverside Homecoming King and Queen. It was a memorable night with beautiful dresses, mums and matching shirts for the candidates for king.
Congratulations to Riverside 2025 Homecoming Queen Tyanna and King Devin!

2025 Bureau of Indian Education 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant Award Accepting Applications
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers competitive grant is designed to provide funding to create academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children who attend BIE funded schools. The goal of the 21st CCLC program is to help students meet state and local standards in core academic subject areas, such as reading and math; offer students a broad array of activities that can complement regular academic programs; and offer cultural enrichment opportunities based around language, tribal heritage, land and more. Annual awards will range from a minimum of $50,000 to a maximum of $240,000 for 5 years.

- Attend one of the application webinars as needed for application assistance.
- ‘Intent to Apply’ emails were due to 21stCCLC@bie.edu by January 30, 2025.
