I have absolutely loved getting to know my students this year and I'm so proud of their progress and adjustment to middle school!!
We have definitely gotten into a daily routine and my students know exactly what is expected of them each day in my classroom! I see respect and kindness on a daily basis in my room and I love it!
Currently, all classes are working on Chapter 7 which includes solving area, surface area and volume problems. Last week, we created our own solid figures, out of stock paper, using nets to help solve our team problems. Students demonstrated teamwork and leadership while working together to solve more complex problems within their groups.
We have noticed that our students are needing many extra reminders to make safe choices on our busses to and from school. At our team meetings last week, we discussed the expectations for behavior on the bus: Staying seated, using quiet voices and respectful language, keeping hands and other body parts inside the bus, and never throwing anything out of windows. We spoke about how important it is for our bus drivers to be able to focus on the roads in order to keep them safe and they cannot do that if they are worried about the poor choices happening behind them.
Our bus drivers now have ROCKStar tickets and will be giving them to students that make good choices on the bus. We are hoping that by focusing on the positive we will be able to change the energy that has been happening on some of our busses.

Reminders:
1.If your student needs medication in school, please have their doctor complete the medication form and have an adult bring the medication to the school nurse.
2. 7th grade students require a Dental Exam. All forms are due back after Winter Break.
3. 6th grade students require a Physical Exam by their Primary Care Physician. All forms are due back after Winter Break.
4. The Mobile Dentist will be at Scott 2/11/25. Consent forms will be distributed this week; please sign up to participate. Return forms to the school nurse or sign up online.
