UASD Annual Technology Device Protection Plan
This is a reminder that computer device forms are due. Students were given technology forms for their laptop device at pickup. All forms must be turned in to the office immediately. Students can either opt to go with the protection program for a fee of $30 or waive out of the program. Should you decide to waive out of the program, a parent/guardian must sign the form that you understand the terms and will be responsible for the payment of repairs or replacement of your student's device should the device get damaged. Please select links below to view forms. You may pay by cash, check (made out to UASD), or MySchoolBucks.com.
ACADEMICS
Mr. Heyser's First Period Visitor
Mr. Heyser's first period class had an unexpected visitor on Wednesday. A squirrel attempted to join the class; despite some student requests to allow the squirrel into the classroom, Mr. Heyser thought best that the squirrel remained in the great outdoors.
GUIDANCE
Group Therapy for Students
Hoffman Homes was licensed as a psychiatric outpatient clinic in 2022. Over the last year, we have been working with Community Care Behavioral Health (York/Adams Medicaid provider) to provide group therapy for students within the Adams and York County school districts. Attached is a flyer with information. We are asking you to share this with students and the parents/guardians of students who may benefit from group therapy in the community setting. Topics will vary and be based on interest and need. Bachelor and Master level clinicians will co-lead the groups. Feel free to contact Nicole Losh @ nlosh@hoffmanhomes.com with any questions.
Adams County College and Career Fair
28th Annual Adams County College and Career Fair
Thursday, September 19, 2024
6:30-8 PM at Gettysburg College
This event is a great opportunity for students and families to meet with 50+ different colleges/universities and see what they have to offer. There will also be military recruiters as well as a Financial Aid presentation. Students can bring an adult, a group of friends, or go by themselves! I encourage students to come prepared with any questions they may have regarding college, military, and/or financial aid.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Esports Registration
What is esports?
Esports officially stands for electronic sports, not to be confused with video games. Esports takes video gaming to another level with organized competitive gameplay between two teams, governed by its own strict set of rules and guidelines. The difference is comparable to a pick-up basketball game at a park versus a varsity high school basketball game. Esports requires teamwork, communication, critical and strategic thinking, creativity, sportsmanship, and leadership — much like traditional sports.
What does the high school experience look like?
Like any other high school sport or extracurricular activity, students attend team meetings, practices, and official matches. However, since esports is played online, there is no travel required throughout the regular season. Players compete from their respective campuses, supervised by a coach.
if you wish to participate in the Esports Club this school year, please click on this link and complete the form. Please note registration for the fall season is due by the end of the week (9/13)!
Senior Reserved Parking Spots
This past Sunday, we had more seniors painting their reserved parking spaces. Our student lot is looking alive and vibrant with all the colors and designs. Because this is a new venture for BHS, we're still open to more seniors reserving and painting a spot. If there is concern over the cost of the paint, the spot can be as simple as stenciling their name, initials or a small picture of a sport or instrument they play! Spots cost $20 and go directly to supporting the class of 2025.
SPORTS
Varsity Football Announcement
We received confirmation this evening that Fairfield High School is unable to safely field a varsity football team for this Friday, September 20, 2024. As a result, Fairfield has decided to forfeit the game. However, the Homecoming parade at 6:00 pm and the coronation that follows will still take place in the stadium.
