Headteacher's Message
Dear Families,
What a lovely start to the new school year it has been. September has flown by and I am getting quite concerned that people are already talking to me about Christmas.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all of the parents who attended our meet and greets, it really goes to show how much you value your children’s education. I want to repeat what I said about e-safety and ensuring that you are keeping your children safe and sensible online. Reminder to speak to us if you need help setting up parental controls.
Please look at the school website for the curriculum maps and some handy videos on how to support your children with reading at home.
Finally, I would just like to remind you that school uniform is required at school and that the wearing of hoop earrings and necklaces is not allowed due to health and safety reasons and children will be asked to remove them if they are wearing them. If you need any help with school uniform please come and speak to us.
Kind Regards,
Mr Vernalls
Arbor App and School Communication
As you are all aware, we use the Arbor App for home-school communications, as well as for you to make payments for clubs and trips. Please make sure you check the app regularly throughout the year to ensure that you keep up to date with all that happens for your child throughout the year. Also, please check the school calendar on a regular basis!
We suggest that you keep the app downloaded and that the notifications are kept on so you are able to access up-to-date information. If any of your contact information has changed, you are able to make changes right on the app and these will be approved by the office as soon as possible.
If you need support with accessing the app, your password, or how to use the app, please speak to Mr Sinko or Ms Foreman and we will be happy to help. If you have any questions about payments or topping up your account the office staff will be happy to help!
A Massive Welcome to Our New Staff
Below are the new staff members that have joined our school this year! We are so fortunate to have such lovely and dedicated people here supporting your child's learning and social development.
In addition to all the staff below, we would like to highlight our new Parent Support Liaison, Emma Bushnell. In her role, she will support parents and children across the school. If you need any help with issues in school, access to community resources, family support, or just need someone to listen to you, please see Emma at the main entrance at the beginning and the end of the day. She may not have answers for you straight away, but she is resourceful and happy to help!

Pupil Roles
Just a quick reminder that your child may have come home with an application form for Peer Mediation and Poddely Support Workers, as well as House Captains. These two groups will join our other pupil groups, such as: F.A.B. Team, School Council, Eco Club, Savings Club, and School Librarians.
If your child has one of these applications, please encourage them to complete this as soon as possible and bring it back to the correct adult. We look forward to interviewing the children and getting these groups up and running soon!
Macmillan Coffee Morning
This year, we raised £200.00 for cancer.
As this was a PTA event, we also shared our first PTA meeting of the year which will be on Thursday 19th October at 2:00. Throughout the year we will meet to discuss different events to support pupils and our wonderful school. These meetings will usually be on a Thursday and we will send an Arbor message reminder before each meeting. You can also look out for the dates on the school calendar which can be accessed via the link at the end of the newsletter.
Below are some wonderful pictures from this morning's event!
Minister Visit
This month, we were delighted to welcome MP David Johnson, the Minister for Secretary of State for Children, Families and Wellbeing to share the wonderful work that we do as a school in our early years provision. Mr Johnston was accompanied by a team from the Department for Education and the BBC.
During the visit, we were able to highlight the wonderful work that our teaching staff and support staff have done to develop language within the Early Years Provision through the Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI). Staff were able to share why we think this is a important investment in education that helps ensure all children have the language necessary to access the curriculum, as well as engage with their peers.
As a school we are continuing our commitment to early language development by providing NELI preschool in our nursery that will give children the structured language support they need even earlier. Please look out for more media release slips in the near future as we will have more camera crews coming in to show off our amazing staff and fantastic children.
Please take a moment to watch the video that was created after the Minister's visit! We are so proud of our children!
Meet and Greets
Thank you to all the parents that have attended our Meet Greet sessions this year. It was wonderful seeing you all support your children and develop key partnerships with the school and your child's class teacher. During each meeting we reviewed our school expectation around parental conduct on the playground, how we (school and families) support the wellbeing of your children, the expectations around home reading and homework, as well as the engage learning opportunities that you children will participate in throughout the year.
If you were not able to attend, please take some time to read the handouts that were given out during the meetings. For all parents, we also have published our Yearly Overviews for each year group so you can get an even better idea of the things your children will be learning throughout the day. Please click on the links below to access each year group page from our website.
