Good Afternoon RPI Families,

What a great week we had last week at RP! From the successes of the varsity wrestling, hockey and girls basketball teams, to the great work our kids are doing in the classroom and the great educational opportunities our teachers are providing for our kids...RP is truly a great place to be!

I ran across this article the other day and thought it was worth sharing. In it, Mr. Dziatczak, talks about the randomness, anticipation and giving of gifts that a snow day does for kids in school. He also challenges us to create these moments in our daily lives...that they don't have to be reserved for snow days! This thinking connects directly to the work we are doing with the Positivity Project.

How can you help your kid(s) understand the power of random acts of kindness this week?

This week our kids will be talking about "self-control" in their P2 time. This is no short order for kids of this age (and I might argue some of adults too). We sent these home in an email earlier this week. We will not be sending home a hard copy unless someone specifically requests one. This is in efforts to keep our costs down and waste a bunch of paper!

We are looking to improve our options for kids at lunch time. If anyone is skilled in making "corn hole" games and is interested in donating a few sets, please let me know.

We are also looking to purchase volleyball net (and poles), tether-ball set (or 2), new basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, and a storage container for it. If you are interested in donating anything to help provide more opportunities for the kids, we will gladly accept cash donations.
