Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, General Randy George, met with Harker Heights Station recruiters to engage in an open dialogue about challenges with recruiting. The event was attended by members of the Dallas Recruiting Battalion, 5th Recruiting Brigade command team, Early College High School Senior, Carlos Carreno, and a Temple HS graduate, Rylan Martin.
During the visit, General George had the opportunity to speak with both recruits about their plans to join the Army. Carreno enlisted with an MOS of 88H – Cargo Specialist and is set to leave for basic training in August.
It was an excellent opportunity for our students to learn about the military and explore their options for service. We are proud of Carreno and Martin for their commitment to serving our country and wish them the best of luck as they begin their journey!
The Military Enlistment Recognition Ceremony is on May 10 at 6 p.m. in the Shoemaker High School Auditorium. This is a public event, and all are welcome to attend.
