Wattles Gazette 09.30.24
Dear Parents,
There is a LOT of new information in this week's Gazette. Please take a moment to read until the end!
We are a long way from meeting our $20,000 fundraising goal! Right now, Mrs. Phillips' class is in the lead, followed by Miss Gerding and Mrs. Ambrozy's classes! Our goal is for each student to raise a minimum of $50. Thank you for all you are doing to support the extra activities this money allows us to do!
As we approach Parent-Teacher Conferences, we want to ensure that you have the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss their progress, celebrate successes, and address any concerns you may have. Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 10th in the afternoon and evening, and Friday, October 11th in the afternoon. Please use the link below to sign up.
I would like to remind all families to respect the designated parking areas on school grounds. Specifically, please do not park in the handicap spots unless you have the appropriate permit visible in your vehicle. These spaces are reserved for those who need them, and they must remain accessible at all times.
Kinder and first-grade iPads will not be coming home this year, but housed at school for school use only. We kindly remind you that school-issued iPads are intended for educational purposes. Please ensure your child is using their device responsibly and in line with school guidelines. We encourage you to regularly check your child's usage to ensure they are staying on task and using their iPad for learning activities.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to seeing you at the conferences and continuing to work together for the success of your child.
Enjoy your week!
Amy Wallace

Fitness Testing is Coming in PE!
In PE, third, fourth, and fifth graders will begin their fitness testing this week. There are five fitness tests; the 25-minute jog, lateral jumps, sit and reach, flexed arm hang, and a 5-minute plank. Students will “pre-test” in the Fall and “post-test” in the Spring. Kindergarten, first, and second graders will be introduced to and practice some of the fitness tests.
A Bit About Media!
In Media this week, kindergartners learned about how names are so important to us! We read Alma and How She Got Her Name, then discussed how students got their names and the meaning behind them. Next, students made their names out of playdough!
