From School Administration
Dear Lisbon Families:
Welcoming students and families back to school is one of our greatest joys. It was delightful to see so many smiling faces as we kicked off the second week of school. Both students and families navigated arrival and dismissal procedures smoothly, setting a positive tone for the year ahead!
In these initial days and weeks, our teachers and staff are focused on getting to know one another, reviewing procedures and expectations, and fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. Students will be engaged in activities that promote collaboration, teamwork, mutual respect, and problem-solving, all while learning the expectations that contribute to a productive and respectful learning environment.
Mr. Scobie and I have conducted Town Halls to review our behavioral expectations with every grade-level team. We highlighted how our R.O.A.R values—Respectful, Organized, Always Safe, and Responsible—should be evident throughout the school day and in various areas of the building. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations with our students.
We value the trust you have placed in us and are eager to build a strong, collaborative relationship with our families. To further enhance our partnership, we are excited to invite you to our PTA Back to School Social TONIGHT from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
Mrs. Anoff, Principal
Mr. Scobie, Assistant Principal

New Information
From the Health Room
Dear Lisbon Community:
Each year, the Howard County Public School System partners with the Maryland Partnership for Prevention to bring flu immunizations into our schools for students. This year, they will also be offering the latest Covid vaccine if it is available at the time of the clinics. The clinic at Lisbon Elementary School will be held on Monday, October 21st during school hours. If you would like your child to be vaccinated against the flu and/or Covid at this clinic, please register at this link: https://www.marylandvax.org/appointment/en/reg/9012252769
You are not required to provide your child’s insurance information. If you have any concerns about the new Covid vaccine, you are advised to speak with your child’s pediatrician. All in-school clinics will be closed to registration by end of business day on October 8th to allow our health room staff time to review and prepare the consents and make sure enough vaccine is ordered. If you wish to cancel your child’s appointment after October 8th, please call Joanne O'Keefe, RN in the Health room. If you have any questions, please call your school’s health room at 410-313-5555.
Strategic Plan Stakeholder Input Meetings
Community members are invited to attend one of these meetings to help inform the system’s new strategic plan by providing their input about stakeholder values during this virtual, hour-long opportunity facilitated by HCPSS staff. No registration is required.
