From the Desk of Mr. Nelson
Hey Families! I need your help with a couple of items as we round out the very end of the school year.
SNACKS: We have daily snack time at our school for students, to help carry over the time between breakfast yums and lunchtime eats. This is an optional time for families to send in a healthy and small food item each day for their child to eat to keep them energized throughout the day. We are suddenly having an increasing number of students show up to our main office forgetting their snack at home, or claiming their parents didn't give them a snack, etc. We have even had students show up to our office with empty shopping bags ready to fill it up from our snack supply. This stock of extra snacks is supplied by our PTO for students who truly need extra assistance, but in the past couple of months we are spending hundreds of extra dollars for students who are coming to the office daily to claim a snack from our stock. We'd like to be able to continue providing snacks to those who need it, but we cannot continue to provide snacks to those who are forgetting their snacks at home, or preferring the snack options from school, etc. Please have a conversation with your child at home and let them know that if they want a snack during the day, they need to work with you to pack it and bring it each day.
AFTERNOON PICK-UP: Our dedicated team of after-school supervisors in the Creamery Loop has shared that it seems some families might be lingering in the walk-up zone and socializing while they pick up their children. In the past, we have had kids running through traffic, playing near the tennis courts unsupervised, etc. Please be mindful of the safety risk associated with our loop during dismissal time, and the subsequent need we have for you to leave the grounds as soon as you pick up your child to help with both student safety and flow of traffic.
THANK YOU!

Ticks in Wisconsin
Spring is here and ticks are active! There are many diseases that can be spread by ticks in Wisconsin; including Lyme disease and Rocky mountain spotted fever. Most tickborne diseases in Wisconsin are spread by the black-legged tick (also known as the deer tick). To prevent Lyme disease and other illnesses spread by ticks, it’s important to carefully remove attached ticks as soon as possible and get rid of them. As you spend more time outdoors, be sure to check for ticks and remember these tips to help prevent tick bites. See Ticks in Wisconsin: What You Need to Know for more information.
End of Year Information
As we near the end of the school year and much anticipated Summer break, MSD Health Services is asking that you please review the following Health Services End of Year information . If your student currently has medication at school, you will find pick up information in this document. If your student's medication is NOT picked up by the end of the day on the last day of school, Thursday, June 6th, it will be sent to the CEPS Health office for summer school and pick up will need to be coordinated from that school. Please complete and return the Medication Release Form to the health office, also available in the health office and MSD Health Service Website. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you!
Dental Clinic
Bridging Brighter Smiles Dental Clinic will be back at CEPS on Thursday, May 23rd to complete their spring visits! It's not too late to enroll! See flier information for more details and how to enroll; as well as the MSD Health Service website for additional Dental Resources.
