Maple Playground and field Closed until 4:00pm
We have a preschool program that will be accessing the playground until 4:00 each day for the remainder of the year. To keep our campus secure, we will not have students or community members allowed back on our playground until 4:00 each day. Students will not be able to come back and play until that time as well. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Willamalane One Pass
SPS is excited to cover the cost of Willamalane's 1PASS for the first 4,000 students to redeem them!
To qualify, students must be current or incoming SPS students. If you have children who are not SPS students, they can still get a 1PASS, but they will need to pay the full pass price of $60.
1PASS sales will kick off with a fun launch party on June 10-11 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Bob Keefer Center. Passes are limited and they are expected to sell out, so make a plan to get your pass!
Kids must be present when purchasing the 1PASS to get their picture taken for their unique ID card. 1PASS can be used all summer long at 16 locations in Springfield and Eugene.
Library
Hello Maple families,
As we approach the end of the year, it is important for our library books to be returned. An email will be coming to you soon showing what books your student has checked out, if any. Please support them in finding these books and feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. I can be reached via email, Seesaw, or phone.
Thank you!

Field Day Volunteers
Greetings Maple families,
The end of the year has many special festivities. One of those special traditions is field day. On field day (Friday, June 16), the school goes outside and kids rotate through different games and activities. The district has approved for parent volunteers for field day. While families can volunteer, we are not able to have spectators for this event. If you are interested, I would like to invite you to participate as a volunteer during field day.
Springfield Public Schools are required to do a background check (Policy-GDDA-AR/ORS 326.607) and proof of vaccination for all volunteers in the schools. The background check process takes a little time. If you are interested in volunteering for field day on the morning of June 16, please log onto the Raptor link:
English: https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/MzU2ODplbi1VUw==
Spanish: https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/MzU2ODplcy1VUw==
Once you have completed the background check you can plan to volunteer for field day. All volunteers should arrive by 9:10. They will be placed at an activity upon arrival. Field day will run between 9:30 - 11:30.

Technology
Technology stays with students over the summer
With summer on the horizon and many summer learning opportunities available, Springfield Public Schools is happy to share that students can now remain connected over the summer break. Instead of turning in their devices at the end of the school year the majority of students will be able to keep their SPS technology checked out over the summer, with some exceptions including:
- Seniors who will not be returning to the district
- First-grade students*
- Second-grade students who have checked out a touchscreen Chromebooks*
- Students who are transferring out of SPS
- Any family that does not feel comfortable keeping the device and monitoring use over the summer.
*First and second-grade students will return their devices as they will be using different technology in the upcoming school year. Turning the equipment in will allow time for our technology team to check in devices and prepare them to be checked out to the incoming classes next year.
Students and families not in the above groups who wish to continue to use their assigned device throughout the summer will not need to take any action. Students and families who are in one of the above groups will check their device back in with their school.
Questions about damaged or lost devices can be directed to the Family Tech Center at 541.726.3406. For additional questions or clarifications please contact your teacher or building leader.
Free Bike Repairs
We are very excited to announce that Lane Council of Governments will be contracting Shift Community Cycles to provide free bike repairs for Springfield students at Hamlin Middle School from 3:15-5:00 PM on June 6!
SPARK Summer Program
Kinder Enrollment
Healthy Moves
Healthy Moves will run until Thursday, June 8th!
Healthy Moves is a program we have each week on Monday-Thursdays. This is a 30-minute activity program that is done before school. A variety of physical activities includes a warm-up, cardiovascular activities, games, and a cool down/yoga stretch. Activities are adapted to be appropriate for each grade. This program is designed to stimulate physical activity for kids in grades kinder-to-5th, and this has the added benefit of preparing them to be able to focus better in the classroom.
- Healthy Moves Trainers come to Maple at 7:45
- Breakfast now begins at 7:55.
- Beginning at 8:00, trainers will pull any student finished eating breakfast, or students who have already eaten at home to the gym to lead them in activity.
- There will be a cap of 80 students per day, no students brought after 8:15
- At 8:25 trainers will line up students by grade level and dismiss to class
Please contact the office if you have any questions about this new program.

Maple Family Center
Did you know Maple has a Family Resource Center? Our Family Center is located in our school right by the front office.
My name is Mrs. Bradley and I'm the Family Center Coordinator. I am here to help students and families so that ALL students feel supported and able to participate in school everyday. Some of the resources we have available at the school are food, clothing and basic toiletries.
Right now I have an abundance of baby and toddler clothes size zero to 3T. Please stop by the front office and visit the Family Center if you would like to pick up some clothing. We also roll out our Community Cart every other Thursday after school. If you have any questions please feel free to visit the office or call the school at 541-744-6395.
Walking School Bus
Please note our route has changed from last year. If you have any questions, please call the office.
Parking Lot Reminders
We have had instances of cars driving too fast in our parking lot. Please remember we have students crossing constantly before and after school. Please drive with caution to keep all our students and families safe.
If you are parking when picking up your child, please walk across the pick up line to pick up your child, so no students are crossing unsupervised.
