Welcome to February! January sure was wild with snow days. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, so we are supposed to have six more weeks of winter! We do live in Michigan, and the weather changes so quickly; we shall see if Phil is correct. Either way, please get outside and enjoy winter! You can go ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing, tubing, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, fat tire biking, etc.

March is quickly approaching, and we need your help! We encourage adults to come in and be a “Mystery Reader” at the school. You can bring your own books, or we can find books for you to read to the students. Please let me know if you are interested, and we will find a date and time that works for you and the students.

Our school received a new, donated AED from the Wes Leonard Heart Team on Saturday, February 1st, at the Fennville vs. Saugatuck Never Forgotten basketball game at halftime. This will replace our current AED as they are no longer making parts to keep it in working order. We will be offering a CPR/First Aid class again this May for parents and community members; stay tuned for the date. We are very thankful for this donation!

We are still taking donations for new playground equipment. We received $500 from The Hate Dust Project. If you know of any individuals or businesses that might want to donate, please send me their information. I am also actively seeking grants to help us raise enough funds to complete this project. Every little bit counts!
