Advising Updates
STUDENTS
- If you are taking the SAT on March 20th, be sure to login to your Khan Academy account if you would like to do some prep before the test!
- Access my advising request link to schedule a meeting with me to go over your current credits.
- To enroll in the next semester of a course or into the next grade level, please ask your subject teacher to put you on the course request sheet.
- These courses restart if you do not finish them within the semester that you are enrolled: all foreign language courses, Principles of Human Services; Principles of Health Science; Principles of Business, Marketing, and Finance; Child Development; Dollars & Sense
- Please ensure you are completing the courses listed above before May 24th
- The last day to withdraw from college classes without academic penalty is April 8th.
- Summer dual credit class registration is open and eligible students will be receiving paperwork after spring break.
- Fall 24 dual credit class registration opens April 10th
- Lone Star is coming to our campus to register students on April 12th
- DC eligible students will be given paperwork after spring break
- This month is TSIA prep and test/retest month. Students who have not passed or taken the test will be receiving information after spring break.
- STAAR EOC exams are fast approaching! Please read testing eligibility requirements below.
- In order to take a STAAR EOC exam in April, students must be 90% complete with their course (in unit 10 at least) one week prior to the test date as well as have completed STAAR enrichment to be eligible. See the testing dates for each exam below:
- April 9 - English 1
- April 10 - English 2
- April 16 - Biology
- April 17 - US History
- April 23 - Algebra 1
PARENTS
- Students who are behind will be invited to come to summer school. Pending sufficient enrollment, we will host summer school from June 3 - June 24. Enrollment forms coming soon!
- CTE courses and Spanish MUST be completed by the end of the semester. Students who have not completed these courses will have to restart the course in a future semester (see those specific courses outlined above in the "Students" section). Zeroes will be input for Spanish tests that were not taken within the semester and the final average is added to the student's transcript.
- There are no more Flex Fridays for the school year.
- To check your student's progress in Bright Thinker, have them login and review the job aid (linked here) that will guide you in viewing their grades.

Graduation Station
- Your next senior seminar is Friday, March 22nd from 9:00 - 10:00 am.
- If you have not completed your CPR certification requirement, the instructions for that course are on your Google classroom.
- The FAFSA and TAFSA applications are now open! Please ensure you are completing that graduation requirement or ask for an opt out form!
- All students have completed their final PGP meeting with me and have been given all of their requirements remaining to graduate - please ensure all requirements are complete by May 17th in addition to your coursework requirements! Students who do not complete their requirements will not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony.

- Please send me your college/scholarship acceptances - if you do not want to be celebrated, just let me know that as well.
- Students that finish all grad coursework and requirements early will be processed for graduation and will not be required to return to campus. Please see me once you are ready to be processed for more info!
