CTE Month
Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers. These programs combine academic knowledge with practical skills, helping students explore various career paths while gaining real-world experience.
At Winneconne Community School District, we offer a variety of CTE programs designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need for future success. Each week, we will highlight one of our CTE programs to showcase the exciting opportunities available to students.
To learn more about the CTE programs and other academic opportunities at Winneconne, please refer to our Academic and Career Planning guide on our website.
Stay tuned for weekly highlights!

Pictured above:
1) In the fall, Foods 1 students learned to roast and puree pumpkins. They then made and donated over 75 mini loaves of pumpkin bread to the Winneconne Area Assistance Center. The bread was given out to families that received Thanksgiving meals.
2) Foods 1 students also practiced and perfected their Knife Skills.
3) After comparing and contrasting many spices and herbs, Foods 2 students created their own taco seasoning mix. They were able to make their season mix as spicy or bland as they wanted. When finished with their mix, they were able to enjoy beef or chicken tacos!
We are looking forward to 2 new semester long focused, advanced classes being offered next school year to replace Foods 2:
- Soups, Sauces, and Sandwiches
- Baking and Pastry Arts
4) Housing and Interior Design students learned about historical housing styles.
5) Student created models representing those historical housing styles.
Not pictured is our Parents & Children course offering. This is a semester long course where students learn parenting styles, child safety, guiding behaviors, and childcare careers.
