April 2025 Ray of Hope Honoree 💫

Congrats to Landon Barragan on being named the April Ray of Hope. Landon is being recognized as the April Ray of Hope for exemplifying care and commitment to his fellow students and the Raytown community. His willingness to step up and dedicate his time to applying for grant funding to improve sports equipment at RCMS is a true testament to how deeply he care for others. Sparkle Empowerment Conference 💖

The Raytown Quality Schools Sparkle Empowerment Conference brings students together with local female leaders and experts across many industries and trades. The purpose of the conference is to empower students with knowledge and life lessons on a range of topics including resume writing, interview skills, etiquette, internet safety, financial literacy, and more. Thank you to all of the amazing students that attended as well as our dedicated leaders and area presenters. A special thank you to Deona Hustle for serving as our keynote speaker. Blue Ridge Elementary Read-a-Thon

Blue Ridge Bluejays celebrated a successful read-a-thon with an all-school assembly. Many students received recognition certificates for their reading and some even took home prizes! The highlight of the assembly was the opportunity for students to 'paint their principal' like a canvas. South High Students Commit to Graduate

The Class of 2028 is locked in. South High School ninth-grade students signed a pledge to meet all requirements for graduation. Students gathered for an informational and motivational assembly to showcase their commitment to graduate. Students also signed a banner that will be displayed proudly as they work towards their goal! Thank you to Dr. Bell and Mr. Aleto for your leadership to create this opportunity.

Westridge Focus Group

At RQS, student voices matter! Recently, students at Westridge had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Martin-Knox and school administrators to share their thoughts on what’s important to them and their learning experience. FCCLA Competes at State Competition

The Raytown High School Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) attended the Missouri State Leadership Conference March 16-18, 2025. Students attended leadership sessions, network with MO FCCLA members and advisers, visited with colleges, and competed in STAR events. Congrats to all the students for their hard work and success. Advisers Rochelle Netten and Stephanie Krupa served as STAR Events evaluators. Next up, FCCLA National Conference in Orlando, FL, July 5-9, 2025. Good luck to all!

RHS Stuco Leader Earns Distinguished Leader Award

Congrats to Nicole H., RHS student council member, on earning the Distinguished Student Leader Award from the Missouri Association of Student Councils (MASC). This honor recognizes those students who demonstrate superior student council leadership skills and knowledge based on MASC criteria and evaluation procedures. Congrats Nicole and thank you for your leadership!

Robinson Team Wins Golden Pear Award

Congratulations to the Robinson Elementary Kitchen! They were the April recipient of the Nutrition Services Golden Pear Award. Thank you for the creativity and enthusiasm you and your team display every day while nourishing Robinson Elementary students. We are so thankful for each of you.

Mrs. Lea Receives State Grant Funds

Congrats to Mrs. Angela Lea, Social Studies teacher at Raytown South High, for being selected to receive grant funding from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Museum Initiative / Ecosystem Project. Mrs. Lea will have access to $1000 to enhance her students' learning experiences around the topics of civics and patriotism.

Coffee and Careers with RQS Human Resources

The RQS Human Resources team is hosting weekly coffee and career events at 6608 Raytown Rd. Mark your calendars for this event that happens every Wednesday morning from 8:30am to 10:30am and includes a chance to have an interview. Join us every Wednesday through June to chat about all the amazing things Raytown C-2 School District has to offer! Stop in, grab a coffee, and meet the team. You can view current openings here.

FREE Gun Locks

Raytown Quality Schools is passionate about safety. We are offering FREE cable gun locks for our community. If you would like gun locks, please stop by our Facility Operations Building at 5911 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133 between 7am-2pm. They will be provided to you for free and no personal information is required. If you have questions about this effort, please email Leslie.keys@raytownschools.org. Life University Plant Sale 🪴

Looking to spruce up your home for spring and summer? You won't want to miss this plant sale sponsored by LIFE University students and staff. The plant sale happens on Saturday, May 10 from 9am-3pm at Raytown High School. Please enter from Blue Ridge Blvd. We hope you will come shop for your spring plants and support our students.
