Smore for Teams
π Here we go again!
It's time to begin preparing your account for the new school year, and developing a plan to get your staff and families ready to go!
The following information and instructions are intended for school and/or district Smore Admins that are responsible for the year-over-year management of Smore for Teams.
This Guide is Divided into Three Sections:

π Refresh your Management Dashboard
To get started make sure your Management Dashboard is up to date.
Step 1. Remove and educators who may have left your school/ district
Via the Management Dashboard - Members Tab, click the 3 black dots next to an educators name and select 'Remove'.
Step 2. Invite new educators
Via the Management Dashboard - Members Tab;
- Add an email/emails into the invite box and click 'send invitation'.
- Copy and send the Magic Link to your educators.
Step 3. Delete any X Groups
Via the Management Dashboard - Group Tab, click on Manage Group next to the necessary group and then select 'Delete'.
Step 4. Create any new Group
Via the Management Dashboard - Group Tab, click on Create new Group, add the name and then select 'Create'. Add educators directly into the group by adding their name to the invite box and select 'Invite to Group'.
π§ Refresh your Mailing Lists
Step 1: Remove contacts that no longer attend the school or district
Head to Mailing lists and go through each list one by one. Check the box next to each contact that needs to be removed and when all are checked click 'Remove'.
Step 2: Add new contacts to the appropriate Mailing lists
Head to Mailing lists and open up the appropriate mailing list.
- Click on '+ Add Contacts'
- Paste Emails into the email box and click 'Done '.
- Click Browse and Import a CSV File of email address and click 'Done'. Here's a CSV template for you guys to copy.
Step 3: Create new mailing lists
Head to Mailing lists:
- Click on '+New Mailing list'.
- Add a name and click 'Create'.
Step 4: Share your Mailing lists with colleagues
Once you have created/ updated your Mailing lists,
- Open the list
- Click on '+Share this list'.
- Click on the drop down
- Select which educator needs access to the Mailing list.
- If they are to just use the mailing list assign them as a 'Viewer'.
- If you would like them too, to add and remove contacts from the list make them an 'Editor'.
πUpdate your Branded Templates
Streamlining and branding communication is a great way to increase engagement rates. Head to your on brand newsletter templates and make sure they are updated with any new brand/ style guidelines.
