MAP Testing Results
Students in Grades K-8 have completed the beginning of the year MAP testing sessions. These results provide teachers with valuable information about each student’s learning progress and next steps for their instruction. Parents and guardians can expect to receive a hard copy of their child’s results; this Family Report will come home with the student. For more information about MAP testing, parents may visit the NWEA’s Family Toolkit website (available in multiple languages) or visit the links here for a brief overview of the report in English or Spanish. Reports will be sent home in Thursday Folders on October 3rd. For questions about a child’s results or progress, please contact the child’s teacher.

Fire Prevention Poster Contest - Due October 9th
Every year PISD partners with the City of Plano for the Fire Prevention Poster Contest. The purpose of this contest is to help children become aware of fire safety practices, to provide motivation for this awareness, and to promote application of these practices in real-life situations. This year's theme is "Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You!" Students can create a poster that highlights any aspect of fire safety, but please have them keep this year's theme in mind. The contest has been explained to all students in art class, they may grab a form outside of the art room if they wish to participate. This is a 50 plus year partnership with the City of Plano and we want ALL students to have the opportunity to participate. Please contact Ms. Bennett if you have any questions, hannah.bennett@pisd.edu.
