A Message From Ms. Laus & Mrs. Walsh
Dear BMES Community,
Thank you for all of your help making it a successful first week of school! Students were all smiles as they arrived on the first day, and continued as students were connecting with new teachers and classmates, and learning new routines in a new grade.
This year, teachers are introducing whole school expectations across many settings using Bobby CARES. This is to ensure that all students in Grades K-5 have been introduced to common behavior expectations wherever they are in our school community. In the coming weeks, you should expect your child to bring home "Bobby's Booklet," a place for them to reflect on the expectations, and review with a parent/guardian at home. You can see the expectations taught in the cafeteria and on the playground below.
Speaking of playgrounds, our new playground is open, and we love it! On Friday, a third grader was overheard saying, "This is playground heaven!" and we couldn't agree more! Thank you again to all of our members of the community who made our new playground dreams a reality.
Once again, we want to encourage everyone to review our K-5 Handbook. This is a resource that is full of information that parents and students need to know.
We hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead, especially our Kindergarteners who will be at school all day, and our Preschoolers who will have their first day. The Back to School Bash is happening on Friday, September 6th from 4:30-6:30pm on the playground field. The weather is forecasted for sunny skies on Friday, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Warm regards,
Becky & Caitlin

Bienvenida Señora Quattrocchi!
Dear Families,
I am Jill Quattrocchi, the new elementary World Language teacher in Ridgefield. All students in
grades 3-5 will be learning Spanish this year. Students will engage in Spanish instruction for
thirty minutes once every six days. Before joining Ridgefield Public Schools, I worked as an elementary Spanish teacher for Greenwich Public Schools, where I also served as the district elementary world language learning facilitator. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Spanish, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a certificate in administration. I am thrilled to join Ridgefield Public Schools and am excited to begin the world language program! Look for more information coming soon!
